Man, it's SNOWING here.... (1 Viewer)

Winter is coming. An Arctic cold front will cross Toronto on Sunday with bursts of heavy snow. This will be followed by an Alberta Clipper on Monday with the first widespread snowfall. It will snow most days for the next 2 weeks and the daytime high temperature will stay below freezing.

It's supposed to be a cold snowy Winter up here this year.

Cleared our driveway of snow today . . . oh what fun. The "shovel" season is upon us. For those that are unaware, we have two seasons in Wisconsin . . . Shovel and Swat . . . . We are either shoveling snow or swatting mosquitoes . . . .

Yes, it is starting to look like Winter here too. If it isn't an avalanche, it is something else.

John...

I know a guy...who knows a guy...who knows a guy...

and I called in some favors and got me some of those coveted military MRE's...

I paid black market price for them...
and they are a little expired...pre Gulf War...
but man...
we're talking the good stuff...
spagetti and simulated meat sauce...
pork patties and...
corned beef hash...

I'm really set up now for the next disaster...

MRE's are gourmet meals compared to combat rations, aka c-rations, aka c-rats. Why the ham and lima beans were beyond descriptive words, as well as the ham and eggs (basically an off white mystery mass . . . the egss, infused with pink dots . . . the ham. The oldest c-rats we were ever given were canned in 1948. I was born in 1948! I was 22 at the time . . . and yeh, we were that hungry that we still ate them . . . yummmmy!

Mike,

The spaghetti with meat sauce and some T-sauce...oh man that is some good eats. I could not stomach the pork patties and would trade them.

John your neighbor.
