A scene from the forthcoming Leonardo DiCaprio (center) film about US Marines during the American Civil War searching for weapons left by British ships along the coast of Florida for the Confederate Army. DiCaprio plays an officer in the movie. (Photos Courtesy of Paramount Studios)

Nice picture as always. There is certainly an amazing facial similarity in the officer figure and DiCaprio

Nice scene Randy and interesting tip about the movie. I shudder to imagine another DiCaprio movie though. It is probably too much to hope that he dies early in the film. Anyway, your marine officer is better looking than he is.

When I first saw your photo...I thought of Mathew Broderick in "Glory" attacking Fort Wagner on the South Carolina beach...but after reading the caption...:DI can see DiCaprio:D....nice shot Randy.

Im with you wishful thinking that he gets knocked off early (And i mean killed.......:D)

Don't worry guys I made up the movie scenario after I saw how the photo turned out and noticed the remarkable resemblance to Leo.:D The set is by Don Troiani based on his illustration of US Marines 1861-1865. It is a bargain I picked up from Stan Clark (Gettysburg) when he offered it here on TF

Great photo, I especially like the glare from the sun,,,,,very realistic

Superb photo, Randy. I really like it.

Would it be possible for you to give us an introduction into Don Troiani's work? As a newcomer, I am not familiar with his work, but his name pops up all the time.

Andreas:

His uniform books are great (AWI, ACW and Soldlers in America--see Amazon for all his titles--lots on ACW). He is good friends with Ken Osen.

Here is a good overview.
