Marlborough Dehli Durbar Range (1 Viewer)

A chance look by me at the Sarum Soldier website - revealed that the old Marlborough Dehli Durbar Range - is now available from Sarum.

Looks like a lot of the range is also available as both painted and unpainted castings too.

I thought that collectors of those figures might not know this - so am posting the link. jb

Hi John,

All I can say is "Hooray!" As a Durbar collector, I have been worried about the future of the Marlborough Durbar figures ever since Brian sold the business. I am thrilled to learn these figures are available again. I find this news to be very, very exciting.

Thanks a million for posting this information!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Hi John,

I have been in touch with Sarum Soldiers and the Marlborough Durbar line is very much alive and available. However, I noted an absence in their catalog of certain figures/sets. I asked about these absences and was informed that some of the molds were "worn out" and needed to be replaced. As soon as the molds are repaired or replaced, those missing figures/sets will appear in their catalog.

I am greatly gratified that the Marlborough Durbar figures will continue to be available. If I learn more details, I will report them here.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the tip both from Pat and Johnny at the nearly the same time. I am already working with the folks at Sarum to replace a howdah that was mismatched with one of my elephant sets. I am also considering a couple of other sets and I hope to see if they have any of these beauties when I go to London this December as an early Christmas Gift from my lovely wife!! So far the folks at Sarum are just great!

Nicely done John - not the same at all!

I'm trying to resist the temptation of going down the Durbar route - as I can see they would become addictive!!

Looking more closely at the web-site - it appears that the larger pieces, such as the Elephants - don't appear to be priced up as castings, but only "painted"???? So......not sure IF they are being made available as unpainted??

I could always ask - but what if they said YES?????????{eek3} jb

Good to know they are not lost though. :D

Cheers Pat. Do you happen to know whether the larger pieces (Elephants) are also available as castings??? They appear to be priced only as "painted"

I could be tempted into one or two, if they were......jb

Hi Guys,

Quick note - the same people who purchased Marlborough from Brian also bought Sarum from Patrick. Hence the reason you see the Marlborough items on the Sarum site.

Thanks Tom - I didn't know that Patrick had sold out. So new owners - explains a lot. jb

Hi Guys,

They are great folks so far and are going to help me out with my missing Howdah! I will keep you all posted on developments and I will also ask if they sell the elephants as castings.

Dave
