Planned by HBO to follow ,Band of brothers,,Pacific etc As to the 8th AF, then dumped by them after years of rumors etc,,Seeing some of the information,,cast crew etc,,Im not expecting another 12 O clock high,,maybe ok with the volume off,,most likely the new great special effects ,,
But being too old school,,my father,48 Missions as an RO gunner,,2nd Bmb Group 15th AF,,will be spinning in his I suspect,,
B17 aircrew were ten,,not 11 as stated,,Group commanders were Col. not Majors,,worst of all the 332 ftr grp of the 15th AF !! not the 8th ,inserted for the obvious reasons,,Whatever apple films are ,,History channel connection,,,the folks that bring you the famous "SBDs bombing Pearl Harbor" shot in every thing they have ever done,,
on and on,,going over cast,,directors etc ,,it wont be any Mighty Eighth more Like PC in caps,,but then this is now.revision rules,,Like Hanks just about apologizing for his part in Bros,,yeah OK

Now re-reading the book, a fascinating history of 8th Air Force. I think the book is as good as Atkins trilogy of the US Army in Europe during WWII. THe author is one of the consultants to the series. Very much looking fwd to seeing this. Chris

THe book, Masters of the Air, was mainly about the 8th USAAF bomber missions and crews, with a look at the supporting role of the fighters, mostly the 4th Fighter Group. There was one mention of the Tuskegee Air Group. But it looks like there will be an emphasis on the Red Tails by looking at the trailer. I guess that was inevitable.

Okay, makes sense. I was wondering why the same actors from Red Tails were in the trailer, and the scenes with P-40s.
