Hi Guys,
With the upcoming Apple TV series ‘Masters of The Air’ about to launch I’ve been watching both of the trailers that have been released as well as other information and interviews relating to the production… It looks amazing!
Like some others I was a wee bit concerned that there were no actual flying B17s taking part in the production.
However from what I have seen so far of the Computer Generated Imagery is truly amazing without falling into the trap of ‘Star Wars’ or the lamentable ‘Pearl Harbor’ of a few years back.
Much as I enjoyed 1990s ‘Memphis Belle’ where they actually had 5 live B17s (although one actually crashed and was destroyed) today, there are only 4 B17s still flying.
So the makers of the series had to seek other practical solutions which by the looks of the trailers… they achieved in spades!
At the same time I’ve also been looking at some of our own K&C U.S. Army Air Force figures that we released between 2009 and 2013 alongwith a few relevant vehicles.
With that in mind and the new TV series coming into view I think it’s about time to bring in some reinforcements.
On that cheerful note… adios for now and… bombs away!
All the best,
Andy
