Hollywood legend Maureen O'Hara passed away at age 95. A favorite of John Ford and John Wayne, she was in films from the 30's into the 90's. Favorites of mine were 'How Green Was My Valley', 'Rio Grande', 'The Quiet Man', 'The Long Gray Line', and 'McLintock!'. She was a great one. RIP, Maureen. -- Al

She was one of my favorite Hollywood studio actresses. She was also great in Miracle on 34th street (my daughter's favorite movie).

She was last married to Brig. Gen. Charles Blair, who is buried in Arlington. I wonder if she will also?

In 1968, she married her third husband, Brig. Gen. Charles Blair. After Big Jake, she quit movies to live with him in the Virgin Islands, where he operated an airline. He died in a plane crash in 1978 and she took over management of the airline before eventually selling it.

“Being married to Charlie Blair and traveling all over the world with him, believe me, was enough for any woman,” she said in a 1995 Associated Press interview. “It was the best time of my life.”

Thanks for posting Al, did not know she was still alive until recently. Too many famous movies with her as the leading actress to even mention. Another from the "glory years" gone. RIP. Chris

"Ms O’Hara will not be buried in her native Ireland but at Arlington National Cemetery near Washington, DC, next to her husband, the US Navy pilot General Charles Blair who died in a plane crash in 1978."

One of my all time faves. The roles with the Duke were incredible and I could watch them forever.
