May Dispatches (3 Viewers)

Rob, how many armoured (Tigers) did you have for this Battle? I asked because I am working in a new Dio related to Normandy early days of June 1944, and the Village Bocage interest me. But I personally don’t have the Wittmann Tiger.

Cheers
d.

Hi Rod,

The only Tiger i have for Normandy is the Wittman Tiger, but i have the Stug , Jagdpanther and the Panther. Will look forward to seeing your dio very much

Cheers

Rob

Thanks Pete for posting the pictures. Especially since I can't seem to get on KC's website for some reason.

My compliments to Andy and KC on this and his recent releases with special applause to his figure poses. They get more and more innovative IMO. I don't know if you have noticed but KC has stepped on up the quality in their figures.

The kneeling NCO in the WS 118 set looks awesome

Like I said many times before, K&C figures poses are quite static. They need not create Hollywood 'mission impossible' style of poses, but they cound've been more animated and more variable, look at 'First Legion' Napoleonics for example.

The Horch Rommel's sculpt does not look like Rommel himself. The sculpting of the Rommel figure that came with the 250 Grief was much superb. But I guess finding a top notch sculptor in China is difficult.

Buy Mr. Andy, please take note that if you are going to produce a historical figure/personality, the sculpting should better be dot on otherwise collectors' expectations will not be met.

Also, Where are the Napoleonics? Give us Polish Lancers!!!

:( "ROMMEL" doesn't look like himself, in the 'NEW DAK HORCH? Also Dissapointment that there isn't any N.Africa Sets WW2 for JUNE? The GERMANS, NOT SS; but WEHRMACHT in their Field Grey Uniforms Late 1944; would have been Priority, instead of MORE SS! Also, their isn't any MORTAR Teams, PANZERFAUST Teams, ANTI-TANK GUN Teams, MG Teams?:(

John,
Have you checked this month's releases?
"ROMMEL" doesn't look like himself - Rommel may have been having an off day, bit too much wine the night before?
The GERMANS, NOT SS; but WEHRMACHT in their Field Grey Uniforms Late 1944; would have been Priority, instead of MORE SS! - Errr late Wehmacht present and correct in bucket loads, no SS
Also, their isn't any MORTAR Teams, PANZERFAUST Teams, ANTI-TANK GUN Teams, MG Teams? - OK, granted, first three, but the 2 figure Wehmacht MG team is actually an MG team.

Come on John, give credit where it's due.

Especially liking the Wehmacht 'action' sets. Some very useful poses there.

Simon

Very dissapointing May/june releases, maybe there will be some add ons next week.

I don't collect K&C ACW but why start off the Union forces with an obscure
Chasseur unit. They really don't jive well with the Confederates releases.

The Horsh is interesting but again the Africa campaign is already so lopsided with German sets.

More WWII Germans are ok but enough already!

I won't go over budget this month.
Waiting anxiously for more Napoleonics, Crusaders and British 8th Army.

:(:(
I have to agree with you! I wont even need a budget this month. I think K@C missed the mark bigtime on the Civil War items in this series very boring! And yes I get to complain because I like K@C figures but again will have to keep my money in my pocket and wait for some Crusaders and Saracens and hopefully a new line of figures that I will want to buy. June is not that far away!

May's dispatches were kind of a surprise.

i was expecting some sort of Tiger, but the Normandy Heer infantry was a pleasant surprise. The ACW i won't comment on as i don't collect them.

Overall a good dispatch for a WW2 buff like me.:)

Quoted from the "what kinda tiger would you like" thread:

This is all fun guys and not to throw cold water on this whole thing, but we don't know what's coming and sometimes we get carried away with the expectations. Then, when the actual announcement is made and it's not what we dreamed of, it can get really ugly on this site with people venting there disapointment against the manufacturer. It's really one of the things I hate about all the talk constantly about "what's going to be announced next month". whatever comes out will always be a major disappoinment to someone and can never live up to all our fantasies.
Bottom line, try to see the good in whatever comes out and not just see what didn't.

I said it before and I'll say it again, what a bunch of nit pickin wieners!
this constant flow of Boo Hoo, Poor Me *****in and moanin really takes the joy out of the forum for me. :(:(:(

Well I guess I have to disagree with you! The collectors spend the money the collectors get to voice thier opinion either for or against. Should we all keep ours mouths closed just for your enjoyment? I dont think so we all have our opinions and this is the place to voice them just as long as they dont get out of control.

I'm not dilusional enough to believe this will ever stop, as a matter of fact it's obviously a growing trend. I just told you my take on it. There are plenty of people around who complain about every possible thing, but in my life I simply choose not to associate with them, they only bring you down and life's way too short...:)

A bunch of nit pickin weiners, you had to believe was going to draw a comment? Hard to believe that the wants and opinions of some toy soldier collectors would bring you down?! Thought this was a dicussion board, did not realize it affected peoples lives will be more carful with future comments and concerns!

I really like the Rommel vehicle, while I do not collect ACW I'm sure lots of other collectors do, and hope they find items they like.

I have to give Andy credit, he always has really nice items for us to choose from month after month. As I have been collecting K & C for quite a while now I appreciate the choices we now have!

I know you can't please everybody, but Andy keeps putting out more and more lines, and sets for us to choose from.

I also think the new 88 is pretty cool, and not something we are likely to see from anyone else.

Dudes, let's cool down here and let's try to get back to a discussion of the releases.

I probably wouldn't have used the term Ray used but I also understand some of the frustration less than 24 hours into the dispatches. This is not to say that you don't have the right to say what you think about the dispatches. How's that for tryin' to walk a fine line:)

Perhaps I should not have used those terms, but come on! it started on the 3rd post, not 20min. after the thread was started! Obviously it was offensive to Andy as well as he felt compelled to respond nearly as soon.
I know! why don't we just start complaining before they announce anything!
Say? " I've got a bad feeling about this month!" or "There's no way anything Andy comes out with this month will be any good".

Besides running a very large gloabal business I am an adjunct professor at several universities. When I lecture about running your own business I tell my students "to never stop listening to your customers"!

I believe that K&C is a very successful business, certainly they are the leader in our hobby.
A very successful CEO once said to me "don't tell me what I do well tell me how I can do better".

I think that Andy of K&C is successful because he listens, learns and yes sometimes takes creative risks.

Keep your comments, expectations and dreams coming and let's hope that K&C never stops listening to their customers.:):)

I haven't collected any ACW from any manufacturer to date. They always appear to be the same thing. However, I like the different direction K&C has taken with the early war uniforms for the Federals and I will definitely buy a few of these pieces because of it. It was a nice surprise.

I think all of the figures/vehicles look great. The quality just gets better with every monthly release.

Andy, just hold off on any Nap retirements until I get some more multiples! :D

I dont think anyone is trying to be offensive to Andy. I think his toy soldiers are fantastic and most of the other companies are nowhere near his quality. I just want more of what I collect just like WWII collectors want releases everymonth. Much of what I here on the thread is just opinions, and I am sure Andy is used to this. When he releases his next line of Crusaders and Saracrens I will be telling him thank you and how great K@C is. Until then the money is burning a hole in my pocket. And if some of my comments are complaining this is the place to do it as my wife is not very understanding with my toy soldier concerns! HA HA

Where are the 2 new lines? Where are the 8th army reinforcements? Guess what we got.....................more WW2 Germans and another Rommel. I know that WW2 is big but can we please have some more variety. Every month Germans, Germans, Germans, Germans.......who won the war?

Love the Heer infantry, the Chasseurs are a nice touch, extremely well done IMO. Kudos to Andy for going somewhat going out on a limb with those; as he pointed out, how many Iron Brigade, Union troops in frock coats and kepis can you come out with? I like the direction he is taking the ACW and Collectors Showcase too (14th Brooklyn was a nice touch, the Sharpshooters are superb).

I'd love to see more Zouave regiments, there were loads of them in the
Union army.................
