Long time no Poll !

So here is a thread / poll of the fight of the century as it is being billed. Also being billed as good v evil.

Poll is for who do you want to win which is not quite the same as who will win.

I don't follow boxing but know I will be watching this with a lot of Pac Man supporters. Given a choice I would prefer Pacquiao to win.

Do you judge this on where fighter comes from, his character or based on skill and entertainment provided over career.

The money they will get is incredible.

Money talks and Mayweather will do so, hard to bet against him. He has a lot of angst going into this fight, I have seen Manny at his worst and best and not sure his best can beat Floyd (assuming Floyd is still top of his game), who knows? I think this fight is 4 years too late.

should be a great fight...

at $99.95 pay for view...

I'm gonna watch it streaming for free on the Internet...

Here's how the casual boxing fan like me saw that fight last night;

Good God that was awful; he should change his name to Money Mayweather.

Went to a house party last night and the host shelled out the dough for the fight..................

And people wonder why fighting is losing viewers to MMA.

Terrible.

I had no desire to see the fight and less desire to shell out $100. At least when I spend $100 on a set, I have it to look at enjoy for a good long time.

Not much of a fight fan, at least not the heavy weights. I did enjoy watching Sugar Ray Leonard and his bouts back in the day against the likes of Duran, Hagler, and Hearns. Now, that man could fight and move. -- Al

The last fight I paid for was when Tyson bit off Evander's ear. Quite an event.

I also attended a fight in Landover back in the 70s when Ali beat Jimmy Young. That was a memorable event; all sorts of high rollers were there. I'd never seen anything like it. There was one guy sitting near us who constantly yelled "Kill the brain Champ! Do like I taught you." A night never to be forgotten.

Refer to my earlier post...............Money talks. For all the haters ( and I am no lover of Floyd), but you got to respect his given ability. He is a winner and a technician.

I watched it at a friend's house...I was rooting for Pacquiao...mostly because I don't care for Mayweather...but he just couldn't connect...he couldn't get anything going...the judges called the fight correctly...it was not what I would consider a great fight by either opponents...if I had called my bookie...I would have made a small wager on Pacquiao...as he was a 2-1 dog...I'm glad I didn't...

what I found odd...was in the post fight ring interview...when the announcer asked Pacquiao why he didn't make more of an effort in the latter rounds...he replied that he thought he was ahead...I never saw it that way...I gave very few rounds to Pacquiao...

my friend rented this fight as a gift to himself...as he had just bought a new house and has been busting his rear everyday and night to make his wife happy with an endless list of "honeydos"...I bought him a Ryobi circular saw for about $50 as a housewarming gift...so that helped offset his cost of renting the fight...

HBO/Showtime will bleed you to death on their PPV...they actually charged an extra $10 after you rent the fight for the privilege of watching it in "high definition"...I'm guessing they cleaned up on this...

I was at my lady's house last night for a home cooked meal invitation. She brought up the fight
and said she will put it on if I wanted to watch it. My next reply was no way was it worth paying
$100.00 as it was a "Pay Per View" event. Next thing she is on the phone with her sister in Mexico.
Here in "El Paso" we are minutes from the border. She summons her teen age son to fetch some kind of high tech rabbit ears that they had and we were watching the fight on a Mexican channel
for "FREE" ! I was truly amazed ! We next all put in our votes for who would win this battle.
2 were for PacMan and she picked Mayweather. To me it appeared that Pacman was more
aggressive and on the attack more, while Mayweather was playing defensive boxing. Letting
Pacquiao get tired out and then sneak in for some good jabs which won him the fight.
Hard to believe no stunning blows by either fighter during the whole match.
I find it amazing the cost of a ring side seat for this fight. Enough for many to buy a house !
I would bet that we will see a rematch in the near future. Hopefully people will stay away from
all of the hype of this high cost boxing. One local bar advertised a $20.00 per head cover charge
to enter the establishment to watch the fight.

by the way...for those who missed it...HBO will re-broadcast the fight May 9th...9PM Eastern

If Mayweather was fighting in the era of Leonard, Hearns and Duran he would have been knocked out by all three.
He is lucky that the pool of fighters in his era are only average.

Never seen so many EGO,s in 1 room, that wasn't a fight it was a fast.
I only saw 1 bloke fighting and he didn't win,i don't understand how a accused wife beater got to earn that sort of money a good example for the community i suppose ^&confuse^&confuse
