Anyone know if we will be getting an ME262 in the near future?

Well we are getting one, the question is when.

I believe it's the next Warbird...although I could be wrong on that, if only b/c Andy likes to switch things up. You'd think it would be in the next dispatch or two, it's been a couple since the BF109.

I'd say "it can't come soon enough for me", but my wallet might disagree. The 109 and the 190 were my two favorite pieces this year.

Here's what Andy said.

Andy's Answers and Replies thread 10/22/10

5. “Warbird Demand”
Re the P47D… All 5 sold out within a couple of hours. Apologies for not amending the K&C website.
In the meantime let me announce that the next polystone, resin and metal warbirds after the upcoming ME262 are…
Special Edition Spitfire Mk1 of the American Eagle Squadron of the RAF. Just 250 are being produced and…
U.S. Army Corps P47 “Razorback”. More details to come later.

Here's a thread with a picture, I believe. If that's from a wooden Warbird or a model, I know somewhere on here there's a pic from the Chicago show. Just put me262 in the forum.

Only a few days and we will know if its coming in Jan Looks a good model from the pics at Chicago

Ron...

Then we may see it in 5 days time!!!

Hi All,
I'm new to this forum; but have been reading it for the last few months and enjoy it very much; so I'm glad to be aboard.
Fortunately for me; I got a chance to meet Andy; last October at Sierra Toy Soldiers in Los Gatos, California; before the Chicago Toy Soldier Show.
I picked up the ME 163 model (the last one they had!!) and Andy signed the box for me. We talked a little about the Luftwaffe sets and he said to me "Do you like the ME 262?" and I said "Of course!!" and I believe he mentioned it was coming out in February or March of 2011. I'm really looking forward to it...

Interesting!!! Guess we will have to wait and see

I recently saw the 262 for the first time at the smithsonian,,my father saw them go by a bit faster from his B17,,usually with hoards of Mustangs and P 38s after.

bromhead...

Must have been an awesome sight all the same seeing that technological leap forward screaming past you

Besides saying how the guns,,turrets couldnt traverse fast enough,,the 15th AF fighter groups stacked the escorts at various altitudes to try the intercepts,ME 163s also with one high flight and a screaming dive thru the formations,,pages in his mission diary with "hit by jets",,of course me as a kid hung on the tales,,never a lot to others except a chance meeting with an ex Luftwaffe Fw190 pilot who was based in Romania -Austria etc,,quite a thing for a ten year old to listen ,,regarding them possibly shooting at each other, the thing that signed and numbered prints are made of.

Sounds amazing and its great you have that stuff. Grew up on my family's war experiences and as I grew met many of his colleagues and foes. Was not until his death that I found out what he really had done when I got his medals which, he had never shown us or spoke about as he did not think he had done anything special!!!

Think that's the general thinking of that time. One Battle of Britain veteran was commenting that they did not really know how they got through those days of 1940 - when it comes to the crunch, it was just luck whether you get shot down or survived to fight another day. There's some amount of truth to that, probably with those who have chalked some kills - plenty of that among the Allied fighter pilots over the course of WW2. But the top Luftwaffe aces were really quite something, chalking up 100 to >300 kills - many of those on the Eastern front especially.

I think I spied one lurking on the K&C 2011 calendar with a ladder supporting it at the back. Looked very nice!

Im hoping that, if K&C makes a pilot, he wont have those googles in which the lenses have the "white paint". That ruined many figures! Im still a bit stewed about the VOLKSTURM figure in the Berlin series that has the goofy goggles!

Daruss...

Small bit of paint and they are fixed. I use a product afterwards called glossy accents which, is used for the tint on the glass of the goggles.

Its very simple and anyone can do this you certainly need no paint skills. It is something I wish K&C would end doing as you are right it does not aid the figures the volksturm being a prime example but, also the many rommels which have been done.
