Meet & Greet with Andy Neilson, Co-Found and Creative Director!

For the few of you on the forum that may not be aware, Andy is the creative mind behind what K&C produces.

Andy will be at Kings X on Thursday February 6, 2020 from 4pm-7pm to share his latest ideas as well as take suggestions and questions from collectors!

Expect to see the latest and upcoming figures from K&C, both painted and unpainted. Andy will also be sharing sketches with you, to give you an idea of where a figure starts up until the finished product.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible!

Call the shop at (210) 226-7000 or email at sales@kingsx.com to let us know if you will be attending.

See Y'all Soon!

Thanks for the update.

Sadly, I will be arriving that evening from an out of town trip and won't be able to make it.

John from Texas

Can we submit questions and comments to (someone) who can ask Andy on our behalf?
Can't make the 2400 miles from Mid-coast Maine to San Antonio but would love to see what Q/A's and Andy's ideas might be.

PHOTOS! PHOTOS!

I am scheduled to leave San Antonio on February 4, I might extend my stay by a day or 2 in order to attend.

Would you Please ask Andy to consider doing WW 11 American infantry from the 4th Clover leaf Infantry division which was the Main Body landed on Utah Beach 6 June 1944.

Many thanks for taking this duty, Amber.

(1) The Pacific USMC is one of the best series K&C has released.
Wounded sets like USMC016 / USMC025 / USMC032 / USMC033 / USMC043 and USMC044 add a great deal to the realism and horrors of the Pacific War.

Can you extend this concept by introducing medical surgeons/doctors, nurses, cots with wounded, O.R. tables and tents, recovering Marines and other similar sets?

They can be similar to the ones you did for the WWII German hospital sets, like WS261 thru WS269.

(2) Any thoughts on WWII USMC and WWII JN battle damaged or destroyed vehicles and equipment?

Many USMC Sherman tanks were destroyed during the fighting as well as all of the Japanese Ha-Go and Chi-Ha tanks. Any photo of WWII Pacific landing shows dozens of damaged or destroyed USMC Amtracks and LCVTs as well as Japanese and US artillery pieces. Can you consider making damaged or destroyed pieces?

(3) Admiral Yamamoto must have been a good seller since I can not find that figure anywhere. The JN series needs a few more high ranking officers other that Yamamoto to man the bridge and be present on the carrier decks. Although I am sure that you research library is extensive, I would be glad to post a few pictures of Japanese Navel uniforms or look in the book Heitai.

I don't wish to HOG the Q/A so I will stop here. Many thanks to Amber and KingsX for this opportunity.

I wish I was closer to San Antonio than a 8 hour drive :redface2: For those able to go and are on the fence I highly recommend going.
Maybe Andy can kick some sense into the Menger Hotel management to bring the Texas Toy Soldier Show back on reasonable terms !
I am sure many could handle a $15 a head door entry fee based on the circumstances to make it happen again.
For those attending have a Great event !

Yeah Larry since you get to see Andy in person every year in Chicago, maybe you can ask him these questions in person when you see him this September?

Just a thought; you'll have plenty of time to think of new ones between now and then, then you won't have to worry about hogging the Q/A session.

So there you go Larry.

But September is "8" months away ... :redface2:
If Andy hopped on all these right NOW then he could show ALL he new USMC and JN releases in OUR room at Chicago ... {sm3}

Just sayin'

Yeah and in 19 other rooms in Chicago too...…………...gee, swell.

Amber thanks in advance.

I’d like to know if we can see any of the following German armored vehicles in the future?
Long barreled Panzer III or IV. Panzer Grey
Sd.Kfz 231 and 232 Panzer Grey or camouflaged.
StuIG 33B.
Stug III E/F Panzer Grey

For new or future collectors any chance of seeing Panzer IV/70s rereleased in different paint schemes?
Same for the JagPanther.

On the Arnhem front any thoughts on seeing German commanders.
Harmel, Harzer, , Bittrich, Grabner
Again thanks in advance
Eric

So how did the evening event go?

The Thursday night event was fun! It was a small informal gathering at “Kings X” in San Antonio, TX with Andy Neilson, Co-Founder of King and Country.

I didn’t have much time with Andy because there were some many old collector friends I needed to catch up with.

My apologies for not having the opportunity to ask many toy soldiers questions.

Andy isn’t going to be at the West Coaster Toy Soldier Show in March due to prior engagements.

Not much on future releases were shared except the ones in the attached video.

He did say future release will involve more non-WWII themes.

The Vietnam War (ANZAC & USA) and Pacific War themes have obviously been a success and many more are coming per Andy.

Checkout the video below of the event I made. Surprise announcement on Vietnam War release in future in video.

Carlos

Thanks Carlos.

Don't think I'd seen the prone M14 Marine before. The Bison look great.
