Andy asked me to post the following message.

Hi Guys,

Someone was asking what the new French Infantry will be...Grenadiers...Voltigeurs...?

Well we decided on basic French Line Infantry which made up the vast bulk of the French Army.

The uniform will be identical to the recent "Sgt. Ewart capturing the Flag" set and there will be 11 individual figures to collect.

I also saw "Fishead's" piece about the seated French Cavalry idea perhaps coming from the Spanish company "Andrea". Actually I got the idea from the same place they got theirs – namely some old “Osprey” books on Napoleonic Cavalry with illustrations by Angus McBride. The farmyard accessories were strongly influenced by the French company "Historex" who back in the 1970's and 80's put out some great catalogues with lots of excellent illustrations.

Well that's all for now.

Best wishes and...happy collecting!

What great news. Thanks Andy for answering my question. Let me just say that regular French line infantry has been on my wish list for some time. I love the Grenadiers, and who can't love the Voltigeurs. I mean guys with the guts to be Grenadiers but without the height who are out to prove something. Still you do need the regular line infantry to flesh things out. Can't wait to see how they work with Scots Greys.

Thanks,
Old Guard

Polish Lancers

The French side is despartely in need of the POLISH LANCERS just like the movie "Waterloo!"

Wow, 11 new figures. Thank you Andy for the heads-up. I don't think I am going to get as many of the new as I have of the old simply because of the Middle Ages series. Ah to have more to get more.:)
