Thanks for posting your photos, Brad! It was good to see you, too, though I'm sorry I didn't get to talk to you as long as I'd have liked.

It was good, as it always is, to see everyone in person, people we otherwise talk to online via the forum, Facebook, etc. It is always a treat (and entertaining!) to talk to George! But as we always say, the Internet doesn't replace visiting with people like Brad, Andreas, Mark, Tom D, Zach in person. And I get to visit with the vendors who support us and the hobby--George, Matt and Joe at Hobby Bunker, Chuck Robinson, Rich Dutkin, Nick Cameron, Chris Keller, Bill Graver, Russ Sahlberg, Paul Boyd, Ray Haradin--that list is by no means complete, and I hope no one infers anything, if you think of someone whom I didn't mention.

Yes, the number of vendors was down, because of World Expo, primarily. There were a number of vendors who either couldn't make it on this year's date, or for whom a single day wasn't worth the travel. But the word in the hall was a general approval with the new location (sorry, Andreas!), both in terms of the hall (especially getting in and out, but also that it's carpeted) and the hotel (nice and friendly staff, and clean and reasonable amenities). Many also said it's much easier to get to, than the Valley Forge Casino is (with which I agree), except for one fella from Delaware County who gretzed that it was so far away (yes, in the remote hinterlands of Bensalem, PA).

The exhibition was also lighter, again, because many painters were faced with a choice of traveling either to our show or to World Expo. None of the Europeans was there, for example. But the quality did not suffer, with many excellent pieces on display, including a diorama of La Haye Saint in 1/72, made with Airfix and ESCI figures, which took a silver in the Toy Soldier Diorama category. There were also great pieces in the Historical and Fantasy categories, so it was definitely worth seeing, and it was difficult to judge the categories I had to judge.

I didn't take any photos, myself, but there are collections of photos, including the ones our photographer, Tony Wootson, took, as well as photos and video that Bre Day took for "Old Toy Soldier". As they become available, I'll link them back here for you.

Next year, we'll return to our usual two-day format, driven by the exhibition, and we hope you'll all join us again in our new location. We won't have the date till after World Expo, which is going to take an increasing amount of time until July 10.

I invite anyone else who has photos, please to load them here to this thread, and share them with the forum.

Thank you again to everyone, patron or vendor!

Prost!
Brad

Thanks for the report Brad. I wish I'd known that Breanne Day was there as I'd like to have met her since we've had a few conversations by email.

I didn't take pictures, but I loved the one with the GI smoking on the window sill reading a letter.

Got back late last night, playing catch up today, but wanted to chime in on the show.

Love the new location, very easy to get to and wow, what a breeze loading in and out. Thanks to the club for all of their efforts to make the show happen this year, I for one appreciate it.

Happy with the result of the show, thanks to everyone who supported me, nice to hang out with Tom and Zach, great to see Brad, Andreas, Marc, Mike and Andy among others (and thanks Andy for showing me that rig, what a beauty that car is, good for you).

I look forward to attending again next year and beyond, thanks again everyone..................

I wish to express similar sentiments as mentioned by George to Brad / Brad / Andreas / Mark / Zach / Tom and all the other great guys who attended the show this weekend. Wonderful to re-connect after a long winter and fun to get back to the show circuit.

Missed not seeing you there, Julie, but hopefully Chicago!!!!

I got back to Maine this afternoon after a rather leisurely trip up the Maine coast.

Now to sleep for a few days .... :rolleyes: The Treefrog booth was beside the Minuteman booth so that meant that I had to keep BOTH George and Tom in line. I was doing pretty good until Zach showed up and then all went downhill from there ...{sm3}

Also thanks to the MFCA folks for putting on a first class operation.

I came back a bit light in new toys, but I did pick up my K&C P40 so really happy there.

(Remember Mark, there is always a WELCOME mat out if you and your wife are passing through)

Always a highlight distracting Larry and watching George from afar glaring while he's working hard wondering where Larry got to! Great seeing everyone! I used to go to these shows to buy things and now that's become secondary to just being there to catch up in person with everyone!

I too, had a good time at the show on Saturday. Interacting face to face with the guys from the forum is the best part as the other have said. Brad (the Baron) and his organization put on a great event each year and this year's show was no exception. In spite of the World Expo component factoring in and reducing the show to just one day, I felt that MFCA tackled the challenge quite well. It's obvious that next year's show at this venue will something to look forward to.

I'd like to acknowledge the people I met and spent time with at the show: Brad (Jazzeum), Tom Dubel, Zach, George, Larry, Brad (the Baron) and Andreas (Andanna). You all made the time well spent!

I will start posting the pics I took and hopefully won't duplicate what was already posted.
