As far as my show thoughts; overall I was happy with the end result, sales were strong on Wednesday and Thursday, slow on Friday during the day, virtually nothing at night, Saturday was a bit better, Sunday was strong.

So, strong on both ends, weak in the middle, but I was happy overall.

This was my 17th OTSN, they've all been very good for me, no complaints on this end.

As far as the "buzz" that was missing; not sure what the "buzz" is people are looking for. The internet is now loaded with information, there is very little in the way of secrets, not sure what you can do about it. Figarti showed a massive aircraft carrier deck, Barzso showed a nice ACW Battery Wagner based on "Glory", K & C showed some nice upcoming Battle of the Bulge figures and vehicles.

Do collectors want manufacturers to hold back items and have a massive release at the show, would that be enough of a "buzz", who knows.

I had a great time at the show, got to see customers, manufacturers and dealers I only see once a year, picked up some new customers and also bought some old K & C and other brands for resale, so sometimes it's not only what you sell, it's what you buy too.

Thanks to everyone who supported me at the show, I greatly appreciate it.

Plus I learned a nice marketing tool; booth babes at a toy soldier show; gee, who'd a thunk it, something for all of us as dealers to consider going forward, I'm all for it personally, anything to attract customers is my thought, way to go Nick you innovator you.

Matt from First Legion and I are working on a nice breakfast gathering for next year too; I think we'll call it "First Legion/MMTS Legs and Eggs".................^&grin

Thanks for stopping by; OTSN is the gift that keeps on giving, 17 years in a row and counting.

George, glad to hear you had a fun and successful show. I have to say, I don't know where you get your energy from. Judging from the amount of figures, vehicles, and scenery pieces you set up, I'm guessing you had no time to eat, sleep, or partake of refreshments.:wink2: This shows a dedication to your work and hobby that is very impressive. Now that you are home, take a break and recharge.^&grin -- Al

Thanks for the kind words Al, it was a lot of work, but I had a great assistant with me who helped a lot with the moving and setting up as well as the show, not to mention his comedy kept me going.

I had a chance to socialize as well, dinner with a bunch of collectors, Andy and Gordon Thursday, hit the hotel bar Friday night as well, so had to take time to relax as well as work...........

Thanks for the pics of your room George. It always blows me away how much stuff you set up. Glad to hear you and others did well at the show. I love to hear good news like that. I'd like some "Legs and Eggs" with my toy soldiers please. :tongue:

Wow what a layout!^&cool Superb pics George and glad you had a great show mate. Really got to get to Chicago one of these days.

All the best
Rob

George,
Good to see you finally found the time to put up your pics. People might think you have actually been busy
recently and had no time !!!!.

Always good to see your room pics. Just the Naps would be time consuming enough to display. Think of the
Michael Keaton movie Multiplicity and imagine what cloning would do for your business (and Andy's !!) ?

As for booth babes I look forward to Chicago trying to compete with the Texas Show show girls. 2nd option might
be to invite Peter Jackson or Phil Collins to see if they would "assist" next year. Phil could sing and Peter could
knock up a short animated movie clip using TS's. Naturally they would expect a few free figures but I am sure
it would work for you.

Good to hear you had a good show.

Brett

George, I see how very different you set up your tables between the shows in Valley Forge and Chicago. I think it works well. The "diorama" set up is definitely impressive. And time consuming .....

I also noticed that because you do not strictly separate manufacturers and as presently manufacturers often cover the same subject, your table offers the most direct in comparisons. As an example, I would like to reference Napoleon on horse where two models with apparently totally different styles stand next to each other. I think that is a great way to educate the potential buyer on the difference between manufacturers.

A most impressive table layout you have set up George, a lot of hard work for you but very rewarding for the rest of us looking at your photos! :smile2:

Thanks for posting them. :salute::

Jeff

Nice displays George and great that you made some good sales at the show. I'll get to a Chicago show sometime in the future and hopefully you will have those booth girls you mentioned as a permanent attraction!!! {sm3}
