Mississippian Indian Village (2 Viewers)

Ken and Ericka,
the workmanship you show us here is just artistic.
The reality achieved and the incorporation of so many various facets of the daily life back in the village is too stunning to be described properly.
So, I just shut up and look at the magnificient pics again with awe.

Ken, what a fabulous work of art. I hope to be able to view this in person one day. I'm lucky to have one of your diorama bases for my own display. Chris

Magnificent Ken!

Hudson Allen really does live up to the slogan "When it absolutely, positively has to look real!"

Hi Ken,
The village is fantastic. I will use the photographs in my World Archaeology class the next time that I it!
Cheers,
Benjamin

Congratulations to both of you for creating such an inspired peice of artwork. This project not only reflects positively on the hobby and yourselves but does a tremendous honor to those in which it depicts. This diorama will be around far longer than all of us are and will still inspire future generations weened on CGI and other computer gimmicks.

Hat's off to both of you for such a tremendous effort.

Hello All,
Thank you for all your kind words! The Alabama Department of Archives & History posted some pictures of the whole exhibit process including the delivery of the diorama on their facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/AlabamaArchives#!/media/set/?set=a.10150095698658072.307773.129258533071
We are looking forward to going back in August to see the finished exhibit at the grand opening. I have to say, I have learned more about Mississippian Indian culture than I ever thought I would, it is truly fascinating!
All the best,
Ericka

Hi Ken,

I think I read earlier in the thread that you might be making the corn and crops commercially available in 54mm scale.

Please could you confirm if thats the case and what sort of timescale you was thinking of before they are available.

As you know I have an AWI display and this would look **** fine on it!

I think you have actually mastered the art of cornstalk bonsai as there is no way those crops and cornstalks aren't actually real! ^&cool

OK...................pictures of a INCREDIBLE dio like that makes me feel as though I have no hope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again, thank you for the kind comments. While I was looking for some other images I ran across these concept sketches I made while planning the original model for the Museum. It is pretty amazing to me how close the finished model was in many details, even though this was just to give a rough idea of what we could incorporate into the 6 foot diameter circle in 1/50th scale.

I hope you enjoy seeing some of the planning side of a model like this.
