Wayne,
I know you like Grey and I can see the truck has been converted from cam to grey and the cap of the driver. You will have to point out other differences as hard to tell without looking at the original version of the figures.

As a non modeller it is hard for me to make comment on the work and I will refrain from doing so. Certainly I could not do that.

I will say from what I can see that there are probably quite a few armour modellers in Perth (not to mention Obee) who could change a vehicle from cam to grey. Probably a few aircraft and ship builders also.

At the end of the day it is your money and the only one who has to be satisfied is you.
Regards
Brett
PS This is a general comment. If looking for modellers to paint or fix something Google IPMS which is a modelling club with many international branches. In Brisbane alone there are several model clubs.

I have been watching Mitch's work since I joined the forum...I am also a 1/35 modeler & TS repainter , & I must say that his work shows attention to detail & is IMO Superb...

Good thing about Mitch you work for you he does not charge "Premium price :wink2:^&grin

Wayne....

Thanks for the thread I know what I can do and can't do. I do appreciate it though and thanks to Neil, Joe and RPZ for the comments and to those who contacted me about the daftness that has led to this.

I do find it even stranger that Brett had to reply to this and could not remember the change in details etc and this time belittled it in a rather nonchalant manner. When it was painted and posted before being sent to Wayne he actually praised it.

Its more strange that considering his praise for my work previously led to him asking me to go onto a figure painting site and show my work and belittle another talented artists work called Harry (who many know) He was told to grow up and do it himself.

It seems that my work is suitable and worth compliments only when I am either showing something of K&C, or where some form of profit in terms of getting one over someone is available Its not suitable when disagreeing with a product K&C have released which IMHO is not worth the extra money!!!

Apologies to people who may be tired of arguments this is not an argument but, this is rather childish and unnecessary behaviour from a 'grown' man and needed a response. I am courteous, polite and helpful to people who post their work in painting form or in dio and will help anyone. so, its rather unnecessary to have it done for no other reason than to belittle someone because they don't support the way of thinking.

There in, as the baird says, lies the rub
Mitch

Mitch. Based on what I have seen. You are a good painter!!!! Keep them coming!!! Brad

Mitch,
Firstly you may be correct that I may have commented favourably upon that conversion in the past. I have no idea as it may have been one of many such posts I have commented on and it would be too time consuming to look back through either yours or Wayne’s posts to see. Happy for you to find it. As I said it is hard to see the figure changes without looking at the original version. Either way my comments about model clubs are valid.

My issue with your claiming to be an expert painter is when you make comments like :
"If you are going to try and evaluate painting difficulty at least speak with someone who knows about this". You also made mention of your championship level painting and your comment to Brad was "We all understand that the companies have an overhead and are in this to make a profit nobody cares about that".

This clearly is you trying to raise your opinion as worth more than others on this matter. You also mentioned receiving some images taken at LA show to support you view but so far have not shared them with the forum. As you say "IMHO" the new figures are not worth the extra money. That is your opinion but perhaps not so humble in light of your repeated references to your painting skills. Your opinion also seems to be that rising China prices have nothing to do with the issue of a figure that is now $55.

However when it comes to comparing figures I think most collectors can fairly quickly make up their own minds based on what they have paid for previous figures, other new releases and their own financial situations. For some they may need to see the figures up close or get feedback from others who get them. You and others have already made your decision and that is fine.

The multiple threads (no problem with Wayne opening this thread) and comments on this subject are a bit hard to keep up and I think I have said more than enough on the matter (for now{sm4}). You and I and others are going around in circles and jumping from thread to thread. I hope you wont mind if I hold off any further comments until the actual figures are released and I get collector reaction based on something other than forum comments and photos. Obviously the collectors themselves who see or buy/not buy them will be making comments so I think this subject has a long way to go. This also co-incides with busiest time of year for my business so simply don’t have the time.

As regards Mr H and his mates elsewhere I took the advice of somebody on this forum and have not looked at what they are up to for at least 4 months. I recommend it to all.
Regards
Brett

Agreed.
Wayne.

Gentle Friends,

There has been more than enough rancor on the forum during the last two days. We do not need more. Please keep your discussion calm and civil and treat each other with the respect everyone deserves.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Just curious why the belt/harness is a real shiney black on one figure and light matte grey on the other? I think the detail on the hands with the kneeling & firing figure is excellent...good job!
