I thought i'd conduct an experiment to see how FL & KC would go together on dioramas i will be doing another one soon but for this one ive used a cuirassier from miniatures Berlin whom are new to me but was extremely pleased with the quality and looks similar to FL ones in sculpt and painting so have used this and the KC one and have to say they look good imo on the same diorama.I was pleased with the result as i feel both on the same dio will look good, its only when you look closely that the difference in quality appears but not too obvious.

The miniatures Berlin is a nice figure but the base does not appear diorama friendly. Of course you can cover anything I suppose. Can you remove the bottom portion that looks like wood?

I took a look at their web site but didn't see this one, is it retired? They are not cheap at 95 Euro and I liked yours better than the others I saw there. What was its paint quality?

Interestingly, they do seem to really hate the English, this bloke is flat out ugly.;):D

Where as you no doubt know, we're a nation of darn handsom chaps :p

Cheers for the comparison photos. They look to blend together far more readily than I'd have thought.

:D yes i thought that, the british figures seem to be more for amusement(have you seen the fat one with the dog lol) so i guess they dont like us much, but who can blame them we keep beating them, lol.
Back to the the cuirassier the base is all metal but after a bit of scatter is now diorama friendly,it was bugging me so did that after i took the pics. the base seemed too well stuck on to remove without risking breakage but the paint quality is excellent

me to i was suprised really, will do some foot figures shortly FLS first line and KCS scots greys and see how that looks

berlin minatures seem to match K&C in scale,

however, FL figures are more slender. Try W britains they might work better together in the same diorama.

but i am looking forward to the Napoleonic general staff set, since the generals are fatter and may match with the K&C big boys better.

Actually FL figures fit with K&C a bit better than WBritains do. The WB are a little smaller than the FL ones but fit better with FL than they do with K&C. For Napoleonics, K&C fits best with CS figures.

Spitfrnd

On another post you referenced Tin Bay; they have some great cavalry

Do you or anyone know how they stack up?

Cheers

Hi Gazza. I do not have any but from the photos they appear quite nice. When I asked here about TinBay, a couple of members said the cavalry was first rate. You can go to the TinBay website and download pdf catalogs for various series such as Dragoons, Empress Dragoons, Cuirassiers etc if you have not done that.

I was going to try and pickup the K&C Dragoons but frankly the TinBay ones look better and based on auctions over the last 6 months are actually cheaper. I have ordered some foot soldiers first to see first hand how well they fit before I commit to that route.

Not too sure about the tinbay ones they look good but not that great for the prices certainly not to FL standards although i'm only going by the pictures which may not be doing them justice ,the faces dont look right imo and not so sure on the painting quality, think i'd wait for FL to produce similar.Berlins are excellent if they have what your looking for unless its British lol.

I believe thats keith richards in his early days !!

I have a Tinbay Inniskilling Dragoon and the scale seems spot on with K&C imo the painting of the figure is excellent.

Which one do you have?

I have GB-172c-1. It is a trooper pointing a pistol to the front. I have a Scott's Grey from K&C, and they look great together. I am anxiously waiting for the First Legion Russian Cavalry to compare with what I have.

Ah, that is a nice looking one from the pictures. I am eagarly awaiting the FL British and French cavalry; the mounted officers are great, best horses I have seen in this scale.

I will Try an upload, my first one. I have comparisons of a Tinbay and First Legion Bavarian Infantryman and a comparison of Tinbay, King and Ciuntry, and First Legion. I tried to get figures that were fully upright.
