It's Christmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas! :)

Guys, you know by the end of October that song will be blasting out of every high st shop and by Xmas we will all want to lynch Noddy Holder:eek::rolleyes:

Re: Elephant Of Jagdtiger Color Schemes

Aye, but at least it's a Cortina MrkII, 1600E......Remember them?
I couldn't afford one and had to settle for a Vauxhall Viva.....Groan.

And Slade's most famous song?
It just HAS to be;

"Well here it is, Merry Xmas, everybody's having fun"
"Look to the future now, It's only just begu-u-un"

Sorry Folks.......It's a Brit Thing. We can't help ourselves :):eek:

Shaaaaaat it!

Pretty sure it was the early Granada. They don't make 'em like that any more.

Re: Elephant Of Jagdtiger Color Schemes

Guys
It was a Ford Consul 2.5 litre I believe. The police weren't allowed the rather plush Granada.
Now as to Cortina 1600E, whata great car, I had two, the first one I had to araldite (superglue) the gearlever in place as a rather large friend pulled it out trying to find reverse.
The second one was a beautiful amber gold with tan vinyl roof. It went very well with the 22 inch flares of a similar colour.
Nostalgia eh?

Re: Elephant Of Jagdtiger Color Schemes

I'll bow down to Clive's knowledge on this (it was the flare thing that convinced me :D). My Dad had the MkIII 2000E Cortina, red with black vinyl roof. Very nice. Obviously, I'm too young to have owned a Cortina myself

They used a Ford Consul GT V6 with a 3.0 Litre engine in series one and two.

OOps, where did Harry go - this doesn't make sense:confused:

Here I am, just like the proverbial BAD PENNY. :)
Have been travelling, but have today and tomorrow with internet access before hitting thev desert on Monday.
Looks like I've a wee bit of catching up to do - specially on this particular thread.

My favourite Frankie Howard character of all time was Sir Lurkalot :D:eek::D. Pity that series didn't make a hit. I thought it had the potential to be even better than Up Pompaie. (Cant spell Pompaie).

Huh,

I had a Hillman Imp at one time. Nice 850cc aluminium engine. Pity the rest of the thing was a piece of junk though - Worst car ever built in Scotland and it DIDNT impress the ladies I would have liked to have become acquainted with either......:eek::(:):)
