Just a little remark about Kursk Waffen SS figures : I wonder why all bases have this rocky appearance because Kursk battlefield was essentially grassy steppe.

It is like the yellow/sand colored bases on many figures, not just First Legion ones… If one displays the figures on actual 3D terrain matting with long grass, the bases will conceal easily and could even be covered with hobby sand and other bits for better blending if desired. The First Legion Stalingrad Russians shown in my pics below all had brick/rubble bases that I was able to conceal well enough in my Battle of Kursk (Battle of Prokhorovka) diorama:



The FL Kursk SS figure bases look natural enough to blend well enough on a similar grass base and the several I’m getting will supplant the War Park Kursk SS figures currently in my diorama.

I share your sentiment on the Kursk SS figures. They look brilliant and I ordered them all. I do wish FL had used Waffen SS camo on the rolled up shelter halves. Looks like the factory mistakenly did the m in splinter camo.

I say that completely in jest.

I just point out some of this stuff as constructive feedback so Matt & Co. can make future products even better.

My figure collection is 90% First Legion, so I’m a pretty huge fan.

A few comments here - we aren't crazy about these sculpts either, particularly the Ferdinand/Elephant Crew and we no longer use this sculptor because i don't like the style. They're not bad, they're just not what i want. But the Crew is priced at $65/figure which is far below our normal pricing and the LWG figures are also priced significantly below our normal pricing as well.
