Mountain Pass...Traverse Dioramics... (1 Viewer)

Thanks, all, for your enthusiasm. I'm glad you're enjoying our scenics. I'm enlessly fascinated by the land: rock formations, canyons, rivers, forests, lakes...works of the original Artist. I find it great fun to try and capture a little of their magic in miniature. I hope that shows in our products.

Mike M.: The JJD and Mt. Pass pics look great. I like what you did with the shrubbery and dirt.

Mike E.: My favorite shots yet of farm and smokehouse!

Frank: Thanks for the room pictorial. As I forgot to bring my camera this year, I'm glad someone captured it.

Best to all,
Dave

Dave,
Do you have a distributor in England or Europe? Is there any chance of you showing these brilliant rock formations at the London show?
The mountain pass would be ideal for a Napoleonic Peninsular dio I have in mind.
Thanks
Paul

Hi Martyn,
I think my question has been buried among all the other responses and missed so I have PM'd Dave at Traverse. If he responds I'll let you know.

Paul and Martyn,

Sorry I'm just getting to your question now. Despite best intentions, I don't make it over to the forum as much as I'd like. To answer your question, we do not at this time have a UK or European dealer/distributor, but I will tell you that talks are in the works. I'd love to make our products more accessible to fellow collectors across the pond, so look for something in the next few months...hopefully in time for the London Show.

On that note, I'm not planning to attend the show this year, but would love to at some point. It's a cost/benefit business decision, as you might imagine. In the meantime, I look forward to some good photos/reporting of it on the forum!

Cheers,
Dave

Hi all,

Before this thread goes completely cold, I just wanted to take the opportunity to give some long overdue credit to someone who was a big help to me when I first jumped into this crazy hobby/business three or so years ago. Some of you might know collector/dealer Marc Gaynes. It was Marc who first suggested to me that a mountain pass would make for a good scenic subject. What you see in the posts above came from his recommendation. I have since told him that a likeness of his face is cleverly disguised in the rock, but I don't think he believed me.

Upon the referral of Nick Albanese, I approached Marc out of the blue one day at a toy soldier show at Cantigny Park (Wheaton, IL). He was immediately generous with his time and encouragement...and that in the middle of trying to serve customers and work his table! His knowledge and advice was/has been extremely helpful and I just wanted to acknowledge that. You can see both Marc and I at the upcoming Nov. 6 show at Cantigny.

So if you're reading: thanks, Marc!
Dave
