Hello - does anyone have any ideas as to where I might find Trophy's Mounted Winston Churchill and Attacking Dervish? Trophy of Texas does not seem to have it in stock and I have had no luck elsewhere.

Hi Lance,

The set you are looking for is by Trophy Dragon Crest and pretty hard to find.

Right now, I honestly do not know who has this set for sale.

There is another set with Lt. Churchill mounted on his steed and no Dervish warrior.

You may have to just wait for it to pop-up on eBay, like I did.

I am sure the other Trophy collectors in the forum will post their intel.

As Trophy is out of business, I think this is going to pretty hard to find. I would check ebay, as Raymond suggested, but I have a feeling it will not be cheap, if it shows up.

Old Toy Soldier Home has a few Trophy in stock but not this one. However, maybe you want to drop them a line and maybe they can keep an eye out for it for you.

Thanks for the response. I will keep an eye on ebay. While looking for this I stumbled across The British Toy Soldier Company's Guardsmen, Shoulder Arms with Marching Officer and Winston Churchill (8 piece set). I don't know anything about this company - do either of you have any insight?

Ken Jackson who now owns the molds to the Trophy Line as well as being involved in providing the Dragon Crest Line according to Damian has only develved in the WWI Series on a very limited bases. Both myself and Damian in the past have contact him and have asked when and if he planned on providing the Zulu Series I got a short reply way back when somethime in the future which was shortly after he acquired the molds . Damian has contacted him a few times in the past and would be the one to bring us up to date on the results of his last contact.......The Lt.

Michigan toy soldiers carries this line. I have seen them in magazines and on-line and they look like nice traditional glossy toy soldiers, which I enjoy. Have yet to see them in person..................

The good news is that all the Trophy moulds have been sorted, checked and labeled, none were labeled when they were at Trophy. They are safe, sound and perfectly OK to be used again. The original plan was to produce Trophy figures in matte and gloss.

The bad news is that because of a commitment to supply orders for a US Military Academy Maison Militaire’s do not have the capacity to produce any other figures at the moment. If I get any other news I will update everyone.

That is great news the moulds are ok, when "we" first contacted Ken, he indicated a lot of moulds were in bad shape, I hope that situation has improved, ie he indicated a lot of the rarity/oddball moulds were bad (Holmes Cab, Brew Wagon, etc.) So hopefully this is great news!

However, it sounds like it may be a sometime before we will see any sets being produced for collectors to purchase.

When this comes to pass, I suspect the majority of figures will be in matte finish.

The transition from traditional gloss to matte finish appears here to stay, so we do have to move with the times.

Notwithstanding, I shall always have a preference for my first love for the good old traditional toy soldier in gloss.

Hi Lads

Ken told me yesterday that the intention had been to produce AZW, WW1 and Civilian figures from the Trophy moulds that they now own but this has been put on the back burner for the meantime, also the figures would be in matte and gloss.

When Trophy had the moulds they were not labelled, Len and his staff knew where each mould was and could easily lay hands on them when needed. This had caused a problem when ownership passed to Maison Militaire as each and every one had to be checked and labelled, this has now been done and all moulds are ready for use once time allows

Trophy of Texas had the set listed at $100.00 in Sept. 2002. If it was a set that I must have I woldn't pay more than $150.00 with having the original box and mint condition. That's my 2 cent worth 4th H.........The Lt.

Based upon the price you see in some ebay auctions, I think it would go for a lot more than that.
