Mountford Metal Miniatures Battery Elephant Transport Set (4 Viewers)

I have tried your method of painting Jeff and it is quite effective also. I am very pleased with the results and I had very little to touch up.

My only to problems were

1. Have only 2 horses to paint, it takes along time as the gloss paint takes forever to dry :(
2. No green was needed

Scott, The joy of painting with gloss enamels  if you mix the paint on a palette and let the figure dry in the sunlight I find it helps a bit.

Not got any either heh?

Frustrating, isn't it?

No? :D

I have some, just nothing to put it on :D:D:

What no bases ??? Has Bernard got to you :D Are we going to see the fruits of your labour?

Jeff

Yes it's that peg again  I thought the Mahout should be painted next and just awaiting the basic colours to dry before the skin tone is added.

The skin colour was a mixture of dark brown and buff, the figure was a little bland so I added the buttons and turban broach just for effect.

Back onto this painting project for a while. Michel has opted for the grey version of the limber and gun, don’t know what was wrong with the green option? But to make a contrast against the elephant colour I added dark blue to the dark grey to get the colour you see here. Limber first and once dried the wheels will be painted the same colour then the steel work etc added.

Hee hee hee. I've got loads of dark grey. :)

Jeff,
Don't get me wrong, this MMM is top-notch quality and looks fantastic. The ones I got from down under look like they were done by my 10 year-old(s little sister. The castings are horrible, especially after waiting eight months to get them!
I'll be watching Your Eminence at work!
Mike

Dear Mike
It was really sad to hear that there were problems with the guns that you recd and we had wished that you had told us about! We could have and can send replacement parts if needed! THESE CASTINGS WERE PRODUCED BY DAVE'S FOUNDRY (WE HAVE INVOICES FROM DAVE LOVE TO PROVE THIS) ANS THEY MAY BE THE LAST MADE BY THIS FOUNDRY - CERTAINLY READUNG THIS PUBLICE EMAIL! THANKS FR GREG.

Father Greg the quality of your product and painting is evident to all who look at the vast number of illustrations that you have posted. I can honestly say that I have never seen a Sanderson figure presented in the manner that you have achieved.

I told you I should have left it as grey primer! ;)

Jeff

I did that Jeff and painted the grey parts with clear nail varnish to make them glossy. Didn't turn out to bad either.

What are you doing with nail varnish?;):D

Lucky for me I have acquired some more gloss dark grey paint and then mixed with the dark blue - a good coating was applied to the gun carriage.

The gun barrel and breech etc will be painted a steel colour and the parts such as the elevating wheel etc will be more of a brass colour.

Gunmetal / steel colour was a mix of silver with some black added, when this has dried the detail will be picked out with brass etc.

That's a beast and a half. Great job Jeff :)

Yes it is a beast and now drying in the sun as all the other little bits and pieces have had a coat of either steel/gunmetal or brass. The limber has had similar treatment. Once dry I will dust off the elephant and hitch it up for a photo shoot.

Thanks

Jeff
