As the Morning fog begins to clear on the feet of these weathered Poilus, we see another attempt to gain ground on the stalemated Western Front. Sick and injured to the rear as "fresh" troops make their way to their trenches, will this finally be the push that throws Fritz back into Germany? Only time can tell.

Outstanding! Terrific looking diorama, well staged and photographed. The ground work (mud) is very realistic looking . . . .

I have these figures , but no way do they look this good. Might I will trade them in and get some like these. Your detail work just makes them outstanding. Robin.

Thank you!

That means a lot to me! I'm so glad that you enjoy the display so much!

P.S. If you want to switch them, you can always do that with my shop ;)

These are excellent scenes! Very well done.....you can actually feel the battle when you look at it.

Great job and thanks for posting these.

Hi Robo,

Your scenes are stunning! You do great work with setting them up, getting the background right, doing great photos.
I love your ideas.
Of course, with a store like Sierra Toy Soldiers to draw from, you’re somewhat privileged to make it happen.
But no, I don’t want to take anything away from the dioramas you are showing us here.
You’re good at it, really good!
I’m one of those “glass shelf” collectors, meaning I buy figures and put them in a curio, on a glass shelf, and enjoy the figure, or the group of figures, as they were done, sculpted, casted, painted, etc.
In the same time, I really appreciate to see work like you do, and diorama works of numerous other forum members.
Keep it up! One day, I might do it myself, and get some of my figures in a scenic setting :wink2:

Thanks for your inspirations!

Konrad

Its not just the real mud that brings this whole scene into a class of its own,,,the lighting, the mix and composition of models is just so well balanced...congratulations on what is a very carefully thought out diorama..!!

Hey thank you,

I admit working in a store like this does put me at a bit of an advantage, but I really do like the task of trying to do better each and every new display we do at work. I may just be a little modest, but I do appreciate the kind words and support with these dioramas, it does make me happy and confident enough to do another.

There is something to be said about the glass shelf collectors, because they find the beauty in the figure, the action within that one piece and that in itself is amazing! So keep on keeping on with what makes you happy, because at the end of the day that's what matters most!

Thanks,
Robo

Really a brilliant dio. Very real looking, enough so that the Poilus should be glad that the clouds of fog are white/gray and not a yellow/green.:wink2: -- Al

Excellent photos/set up, well done.

Those JJD French look terrific and even the one K&C set (wounded on bearded soldier's back) fits in perfectly.

You've got a great eye!

Yeah I was surprised by how well it fit in!
