"Button up your collar. Where do you think you are?" Thought this the best line in the movie. -- Al

Wayne.

I used Lancaster's line from Vera Cruz "Now we both got girls!" as a wedding toast to a friend of mine. He got it.

This exchange is a favorite but it's not a short pithy quote..

Capt. Danette: [to Joe Erin] Your acquaintance with etiquette amazes me, monsieur. l had no idea you know which hand to use.
Benjamin Trane: [to Joe Erin] When l was no higher than a hound dog's tail on point,l had a little tin soldier, about so high. And one day l lost him... and l cried. My mother said "Stop bawlin'. Someday that soldier's bound to show up." And she was right.
[to Capt. Danette]
Benjamin Trane: You're back.

Countess Marie Duvaree....''One million's enough for me''
Joe Erin....''It ain't for me. I'm a pig!''

Jules' speech from Ezekiel 25:17: in Pulp fiction. However, the best version is near the end when he repeats it in his transitional period to Ringo but, its still film classic

'The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides with the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and good will shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon those with great vengeance and with furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know that my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.'
Mitch

A great movie, with many more memorable quotes, but most can't be repeated on this forum.:wink2: -- Al

From another great western, The Professionals:
"Nothings harmless in the desert, unless it's dead. -- Bill Dolworth (Burt lancaster)
"Certain women have a way of changing boys into men and some men into boys." -- Rico (Lee Marvin)
Lots of quotes in this movie, too. -- Al

Not in the movie but from Billy Crystal spoofing Edward G. Robinson as Dathan in the ten Commandments. The line has a life of it's own.

"Where's your Messiah now?"

''Why do all my Generals want to destroy my bridges?''.....Model.....A bridge to far.
