THE FLY---Nikyatu Jusu (NANNY) is developing a sci fi horror spinoff movie that is set in the same universe as the 1986 movie that starred Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis, but it will not be a remake.
SPACEBALLS 2---star/writer Josh Gad commented on the sequel to the 1987 STAR WARS spoof movie, “Without MGM taking me into their Culver prison cells, I can tell you that the draft is done. Everybody who’s read it has been blown away. The process of working on this with and alongside Mel Brooks has been one of the highlights of my career.”
Gad added: “It was sort of a fever dream that this all happened. Mel has been so unbelievably supportive, involved, and electrified by this because it’s the one that surprisingly got away. It’s a dream to be able to finally make the reality prophesied by Yogurt in the first movie happen. I can’t say more than that. I can’t tell you anything beyond [the] process at this point, but I can tell you every hour of every day right now is spent making this project closer and closer to reality — and I think we’re nearing the end zone here.”
UNDER PARIS 2---Berenice Bejo said a sequel to the Netflix killer shark movie is underway, “In September 2025, we will shoot UNDER PARIS 2. It will not be a simple sequel. It is another film, very different…but still, with a shark."
PEAKY BLINDERS---photo posted of Cillian Murphy and Rebecca Ferguson in the movie based on the tv series.
DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE---the DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE team of Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and director Shawn Levy are reuniting for a non-MCU movie. Reynolds said, "I’m writing a movie for myself, Hugh and Shawn to do that is not Marvel.”
AGENT VENOM---a rumor claims Sony Pictures is developing a movie based on Spider-Man comic book character Eugene "Flash" Thompson.
WICKED---Ariana Grande said she understands fan questioning her being cast as Glinda the Good Witch, “Going off of ‘Side to Side,’ I probably would’ve said the same thing, I probably would’ve said, ‘Why the f***? Kill me. I’ve waited 20 years for this. Kill me.’ I would’ve said that as a fan from the outside, knowing of only ‘7 Rings.’ I’d say, ‘Well, that’s bulls***.’ So, you know, I get it.”
ORPHAN 3---Isabelle Fuhrman, director William Brent Bell and writer David Coggeshall are returning for a third movie.
OUTER BANKS---Netflix renewed the series for Season 5 which will be the last season.
TRIVIA---in THE WAR OF THE WORLDS, Martian spacecraft land in California as the beginning of an alien invasion of Earth. In the farmhouse scene where Sylvia Van Buren is startled by a Martian electronic eye, Dr. Clayton Forrester repeatedly strikes the electronic eye with an axe, severing the electronic eye from its cable and dislodging the tri-colored eyeball from its socket. But when Dr. Forrester takes the severed electronic eye back to Cal Tech for examination by his fellow scientists, the electronic eye is in very good condition with the tri-colored eyeball back in its socket.
