EPIC---Jerry Bruckheimer is developing an animated movie based on the musical Tik Tok series inspired by Homer's THE ODYSSEY.

DANCING WITH THE STARS---ABC renewed the series for Season 35.

OLD DOG, NEW TRICKS---Netflix renewed the series for two more seasons.

TRIVIA---in Ray Harryhausen's classic JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS, the actor who played the Argonaut fleeing from the gigantic Talos did not show up, so producer Charles Schneer played the role himself.

SPIDER-NOIR---featurette released for the Amazon Prime series starring Nicolas Cage.

GODZILLA---Toho's Chief Godzilla Officer Keiji Ota said the studio is expanding its Godzilla franchise which will be known as Godzilla World with more original concepts and interconnected spin-offs, “In addition to the Godzilla films created by Hideaki Anno (2016’s SHIN GODZILLA) and Takashi Yamazaki (GODZILLA MINUS ONE and the upcoming GODZILLA MINUS ZERO), if Toho itself creates original concepts for Godzilla, we will be able to strategically produce spin-offs as well."
He added, “Just as Legendary has its MonsterVerse, we are currently progressing with plans to call ours Godzilla World. If we focus on creating original concepts (for Godzilla), we might be able to keep the franchise going for another 50 years.”
Ota said Toho has learned from Legacy's MonsterVerse, “They are linking the Godzilla movies together, rather than just viewing them as standalones. They are creating these movies with the concept of building a franchise within a vast universe. As with Marvel’s shared universe, I was impressed by their ability to design such a world.”
Ota said Toho will invest $94 million over the next three years to develop Godzilla stores, Godzilla rides, Godzilla video games and Godzilla streaming projects with the goal of continuing the Godzilla franchise, “I’d like to make it into an IP that continues for another 50 or 100 years.”

SCOOBY-DOO: ORIGINS---photo and synopsis released for the Netflix live-action tv series based on the animated tv show, "During their final summer at Camp Ruby-Spears, old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder.”

DUTTON RANCH---creator/showrunner Chad Neehan was reportedly fired after repeated clashes with stars Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly and others.

BUDDY---Cristin Milioti, Michael Shannon, Topher Grace and Keegan-Michael Key star in the comedy horror movie about a children show's mascot, who goes on a murderous rampage.

THE NANNY DIARIES---Netflix tv series underway based on the 2007 movie that starred Scarlett Johansson. The synopsis says, “THE NANNY DIARIES centers on Annie, a broke, aspiring writer in search of a story who takes a nanny job for a magnetic Upper East Side socialite, plunging into an elite world of unimaginable excess. When she lands the book deal of her dreams to go undercover and expose the salacious lives of the ultra-rich, Annie must try to keep up this double life even as she grows attached to the people and this world… and finds out what her elusive boss is actually capable of.”

COMEDY---Elizabeth Banks will star in an untitled Apple TV comedy series whose synopsis says, “Fresh off a messy divorce, Heidi (Banks) sets out to secure a lively second act for herself and her kids. But when she stumbles into coordinating her father’s retirement community sex dates, Heidi is forced into an unlikely alliance with his girlfriend’s perpetually single son."

GLORY DAYS---Netflix sports series underway whose plot is described as, "GLORY DAYS centers on the top college baseball players recruited to Cape Cod every summer. Specifically, the players try out for talent scouts from around the world for a shot at the majors. As a result, the series follows coaches, players, and local townspeople as their futures, families, secrets, and sex lives collide."

MARGOT & RUDI---Naomi Watts and Alexandr Trush will star in the biomovie about ballet stars Margot Fonteyn and Rudolf Nuryev.

CLUELESS---Peacock shelved the tv series based on the 1995 movie that starred Alicia Silverstone.

TRIVIA---6' 5" character actor Mike Mazurki was known for playing gangsters and thugs. However, he graduated from Fordham Law School and left his law practice to become a professional wrestler because his wrestling income was 10 times more than his lawyer's income. Mazurki was a bodyguard for Mae West when he was discovered by director Josef von Sternberg..
Mazurki appeared in movies including MURDER MY SWEET, SOME LIKE IT HOT, DICK TRACY (1945), DICK TRACY (1990), IT'S A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD and DAVY CROCKETT: KING OF THE WILD FRONTIER. BRIGANDS---Matthew McConaughey, Austin Butler, Pedro Pascal and Tang Wei will star in the Western movie directed by Park Chan-Wook (OLDBOY) in which a sheriff and a doctor team up when bandits terrorize their town during a storm. The script is by S. Craig Zahler (BONE TOMAHAWK).

ENOLA HOLMES 3---photo shows Henry Cavill and Millie Bobby Brown returning for the Netflix three-art sequel which premiers on July 1.

JOHN DOE---Jason Statham will star in the David Ayer action movie whose plot is described as, "...a man with no memory, no past, and no name — and only one face he can’t forget: Eliza. As fragments of his identity return, he discovers he was trained for a mission still in motion and is being hunted by the very people who sent him. With enemies closing in, John must choose between finishing what he started… or protecting the one thing that makes him feel human: love.” The script is by Zak Penn (READY PLAYER ONE).

MICHAEL---the Michael Jackson biomovie earned an impressive $217 million in its premiere worldwide.

RUSH HOUR 4---Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker turned down $8 million each to star in the sequel. They were paid $20 million each for RUSH HOUR 3.

GEN V---Amazon Prime cancelled the spinoff series. It renewed HAZBIN HOTEL for Season 5 which will be the last season.

TRIVIA---April 26 was Alien Day.
In ALIEN, Ridley Scott chose 6' 10" Bolaji Badejo over 7' 3" Peter Mayhew, best known for playing Chewbacca in STAR WARS, to play the Alien because Badejo was more slender and had the "otherwordly...preying mantis" look that Scott wanted.

HELLHOUND---synopsis released for the comedy zombie movie starring Sam Rockwell, Marisa Tomei, Chris Messina and Ron Perlman, "When a zombie outbreak hits small-town New York, a washed-up veterinarian must team up with his ex-wife and her new cop boyfriend to stop President William White and his right-hand man General Graves from destroying NYC. It’s a battle of zombies, power, and unresolved feelings—and the fate of millions rests in the hands of a guy who’s already given up."

THE SPACESUIT---Vanessa Kirby and Lewis Pullman will star in the sci fi movie whose plot is described as "THE SPACESUIT follows an astronaut (Kirby), who is forced to make an impossible decision after an incident with her co-pilot (Pullman) leaves an indelible stain on the mission in the days leading up to lift-off, triggering a race against the clock."

THE CATCH---Emma Stone and Chris Pine will star in the romantic comedy baseball movie. An earlier report described the plot as Stone playing a “baseball fan who accidentally touches a ball at the wall, turning it into a home run and costing her team a crucial game. She must navigate the unexpected attention and overwhelming guilt that comes with becoming the unintended symbol of her team’s heartbreaking defeat.“

DOCTOR WHO---former Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi commented on fan criticism that the series is too woke, “It reflects its times, and it’s a good thing in the world, though it’s become a bit too big, too important for the BBC or whoever. When I was a kid and watched it, it was just a monster show in the corner of the room. I don’t know why people take it so seriously.”

THE WHITE LOTUS---Laura Dern has replaced Helena Bonham Carter who left the Season 4 cast due to creative differences.

IT: WELCOME TO DERRY---Andy Muschietti commented on season 2, “It’s 1935, we’re now working on it, and it’s so much fun. For the ones of you who read the books, probably the Bradley Gang sounds familiar. The Bradley Gang was a gang of bank robbers that, not accidentally, but they were on their way somewhere, and they stopped in Derry to buy some ammo and something horrible happens.”

TRIVIA---King Charles and Queen Camilla are visiting the United States.
In THE NAKED GUN, Lt. Frank Drebin must protect Queen Elizabeth from an assassin during her visit to Los Angeles and a California Angels baseball game. Queen Elizabeth was played by British actress Jeannette Charles. Queen Elizabeth and Jeannette Charles both died when they were 96 years old, and Charles died on June 2, 2024 which was the 71st anniversary of the Queen's coronation.
