It’s no secret that K&C’s own Andy C. Neilson loves a good ‘war movie’... Heck! He even loves a few bad ones too!!!

In recent years KING & COUNTRY has produced some excellent ‘homages’ to some outstanding war films of the past half century.

And Waterloo surely but the list has a decidedly World War definition so the Crusades and Gettysburg and even Robin Hood and the Sheriff don't get a mention or Hornblower or Sharpe...

I always loved The Sand Pebbles and i regret not having bought all the figures (in truth i bought only the B.A.R. figure representing Steve McQueen. I loved the bag carrying figure (always McQueen in winter uniform) and the MPs. But i always thought that we could have a second instalment with the figures wearing the uniforms of the battle on the river: Jeans jersey and pants and helmet. By the way i'll try to collect at least all the figures i mentioned. They are with the early USMC some of the best figures ever done. I love their neatness, top sculpting and painting.

That’s a great list. Hopefully, maybe the Cross of Iron can be added to that list. A Sgt Steiner and his squad. A Capt.Stransky and Col.Bryant I believe. Great book and Great movie.

With the one omission of the "Lighthorsemen", I have each one of those on my shelf as a DVD or VHS; plus many of the additional movies that have been put forth.

My apologies to my wonderful Australian friends for the omission which I will rectify .... :redface2: forthwith.

As the Tarawa series progress ... and (hopefully) more JN Naval figures, equipment ... I can add many WWII Pacific movies to the list.

The Movie wasn't that great I actually preferred the black & white move 40,000 Horseman

Not a patient patient Mark but getting there. Black and white is how I like my reason these days but if it moves it's got to be in colour
