Re: Henschel Turret King Tiger

It was Mighty Peru 3. Plucky Scotland 1 :)

As a massive England fan and half Peruvian too this was a tremendous result though i was only 8 at the time!

It was 3 offside goals. The ref was nobbled prior to the match with the promise of 20 cassettes (no CD's in them days) of Peruvian pipe music......:)

Re: Henschel Turret King Tiger

hehe I'm off home now. Harry missed his chance!

I was busy watching a DVD called 50 years of BBC news. Had to watch England stealing the World Cup 1n 1966 for what seems like the zillionth time....:mad:
"They think its all over....it is now". :mad:
That 3rd "goal" was never over the German goalies line......!!!!

We can always renew this interesting conversation tomorrow....:)

Re: Henschel Turret King Tiger

Population of Scotland is 5.5 Million. Could be wrong, but I don't think there's more than 5.5 Million ex-pats scattered around the world. I read somewhere that there's 20 Million throughout the world who can claim Scots decent from their grand parents which is probably where your info comes from. :)

My info came from a Scottish coach driver who was taking us on a tour from Edinburgh to Loch Ness :D
I reckon he was meaning the 20 million that you mention but it's funnier the other way round!

I was very upset with Ally McLeod. For some reason which i forget he failed to pick Andy Gray who was my childhood football idol. I loved Andy Gray nearly as much as I loved Agnetha from Abba :D

Ahh yes they think it's all over. Classic stuff. Stands up to repeated viewings over and over again. Thank you Russian linesman.

Other great moments in English/ Scottish relations how about 1996? Football's coming home, Gazza flicks the ball over hapless Colin Hendry volleys it into the net and then visits the Dentist's chair!

Without doubt one of the best goals i've ever seen.:)

Hmmmm.....

Just to mention a few;
1967 - Scotland 3 England 2
1974 - Scotland 2 England 1
1976 - Scotland 1 England 0
1977 - Scotland 2 England 1 Plus Scotland - Wembley Crossbars and Turf
1999 - Scotland 1 England 0
I rest my case M'Lud.
And before I get hit with all the England defeats of Scotland - these were all just "off days", sad to report. :)

Too many to mention here, but try these;

I'm not a supporter of Celtic or Liverpool (or Rangers for that matter) but there's no doubt that Kenny Dalglish was the best of his generation throughout the British Isles;

Too young to remember that one. It was a topic in our history lessons in Scottish schools though, and was one of the few topics that was studied - with relish - LOL :D:D:D

Italia90. Pavarotti introduces opera to the masses belting out Nessun Dorma and making the hairs on the arms of all listeners stand up!
England lose epic semi final to Germany. Tears are shed.
Then we remember the exploits of Costa Rica beating Scotland 1-0!
