1967 - Scotland 3 England 2
1974 - Scotland 2 England 1
1976 - Scotland 1 England 0
1977 - Scotland 2 England 1 Plus Scotland - Wembley Crossbars and Turf
1999 - Scotland 1 England 0

There noo.....What've you sassenach's got to say about that little lot?
:D:D:D

What have we got to say about that? I've just arranged for some of my colleagues to pop over and have a little chat about some stolen goods.

And in order to make our figures look good, we're expecting to be making approximately 5.5 million arrests in the very near future. :D

Simon,
I have it on good authority that several lawns in Scotland can claim clumps of the "Hallowed Wembley Turf" in their ancestry.....LOL....
:D:eek::D:eek:

Hi Rob,
How's the weather mate?
We've just watched "The Guns of Naverone" on DVD - Brilliant movie.
I'm now listening to Rod Stewart's Sublime Album "Every Picture Tells A Story". What're you listening to? :eek:

Its overcast and muggy here in Dalian as well Rob. Nuthin' much on the TV. Usual Chinese dames caterwauling and making that strange screeching noise they seem to think equates to music. :confused::eek::eek: Won't get any fitba until tomorrow.
Kate Bush...??? My adolescent fantasy. "Oh Lord, Babushka, Babushka, Babushka, Oh Yeah". Didn't think too much of her last album though. Really like "The Kick Inside" and "The Dreaming" and of course that song off her second album, "Oh England, My Lionheart". And the "Hounds of Love" album - magic stuff......

Harry, oh yes definetly her old stuff.England my Lionheart is my fave. And did you see that video for Babooshka?.In that chain mail outfit? Soooooooooooooooo hot!;)

It was the video I was referring to Rob....but it's my guess the chainmail outfit would have been pretty cold....especially where she was almost wearing it in the video. You'll find that video on YouTube....yum yum.

PS. We both need to dream up suitable responses to Ron. Dunno if you've seen it, but he's started winding us Brits up again about Good Ol' Mel, that world-renowned Hollywood historian.....:D:D I'm locking and loading my shotgun as we speak. :eek::eek:

PPS. Its Iron Maidens Greatest Hits on the stereo now cos My Precious Little Lotus Blossom's gone to bed. Can't understand why she doesn't like that CD....????

Have to admit, it's pretty tolerant of the folks who run this forum to give us and others our very own thread so's we can witter our nonsense without bothering the more sensitive souls in our midst.

Okay, so talking about old stuff, who did the better version of "If You Don't Know Me By Now"???? I quite like Simply Red's go at it, but nothing can touch the original by Harold Melvin And The Bluenotes IMO. ;);):):)
I'll get onto the subject of the superb Percy Sledge later. Is he still alive BTW???? :eek:

Percy is still around and was inaugurated into the Rock Hall of Fame in 2005.

My favorite Harold is "The Love I Lost."

And my favourite Percy is "Let Me Rock You In My Warm And Tender Love". :cool::cool:
PS. The new Avatar is pretty cool.

Thanks. I'm a big Bud Powell fan. That's his last album for Blue Note. He led a very troubled life. A gifted musician.

Re: Guess where I have been and seen today?

Hi H
Now I bet you do not have a chimney in Dalian?!?!:D
Bob

Well, uuuummm, no, actually we don't.
But the following was the first verse of a song sung in Chinese on CCTV5 - And I swear this is a TRUE STORY;

"The Sky is Azure Blue"
"Oh, the Land is Verdant Green"
"And - the Factory Chimney is White"

Not a word of a lie. That's the English translation that appeared on the bottom of the TV screen.

.....I am not sure what is more of a concern the sort of show's you are watching or the fact you can quote word for word?!?!:p

Well Bob, you have to understand that I was kind of stuck for entertainment the last time I was in Dalian while we were waiting for our stuff to be released from Customs (thankfully only a few bent bayonets and rifle barrels - note that I couldn't have cared less about the furniture etc. only our collection).

Anyway, your post reminded me of another one that stuck in my fevered mind. It was some movie about Hong Kong gangsters and during a "confrontation" between 2 rival gangs the following unforgettable sub-title came up at the bottom of the screen:-
"You scumbag....I'll flatten you like an airport"
LOL - I just love these fouled-up translations. :D:D:eek::D:D

I love Hong Kong gangster films epecially those 90's ones by John Woo and with Chow Yun Fat as the super cool dude.
Maybe we should start a discussion in the movies thread sometime!

Good idea Eazy. The translations are so funny at times - other times they're completely incomprehensible and have only the most tenuous link with what's happening on screen - which just adds to the fun.
