Polyester Cushion stuffing used for the smoke Guy, that I dyed by submerging the stuffing in some kids poster paint, squeezing out the excess paint and drying.

There's some quite famous photos by Larry Burrows that he took there and the Mountain looks like some WW1 Hellish battleground with all the Shell churned up mud and trees torn to matchwood.
