I wanted to post my apology to Andy Neilson and entire King & Country Team. It is with a heavy heart that I must write this post.

As the end of the July was coming upon us here in Washington and the AUGUST RECESS (a favorite time for congressional staff & lobbyist) was about to begin - My mind wander towards all the Great Purchases I was going to be making this month !

Confederate Calvary, NAPOLEONIC RED LANCERS, WWII Normandy, More Napoleonic Dragoons and even some more Crusaders ! Ah...but alas - this was not to be.

My entire King & Country budget was blown up - my contributions to the ANDY NEILSON RETIREMENT FUND was stopped - the real world had come a knocking and I had to answer the door !

YES - friends - I have come to the point where something was more important than K&C Toy Soldiers.

My wife was eager for her new car (old car was destroyed in a crash - with me in it - long story - It was not my fault ;) ) - Her car is the more fun car - while I have more the business approach. Well, the car were looking for appeared - BMW dealer called and decision had to be made.

(see pictures below) 2009 BMW 328i - Convertible Hard Top with custom sport package.

Sigh - yes - the trigger was pulled and with it my K&C budget for now :(

This not a Red Lancer - but, I guess I will have to live with it for a while.

Andy - my check won't be in the mail for awhile now - my apologies......

Very nice car Ron! Yes, I can see buying a car in the $40k is going to outplace other expenditures. We will miss you at the Virginia shows (unless you decide to take a weekend drive in the Beemer just to visit and look).

I bought my Missus a new vehicle recently as well Ron. There's even a place for me to sit in the back.

She tells me she's having problems switching the air conditioning off though.

Cheers

I guess I should apologize to Andy too. I just bought a red 328i as well, although not convertible. Love your new purchase Ron!!!!! Sometimes other toys come first.

Ron

Assume I will shortly receive a PM asking if I want to buy your Reb and Yank collection then :D

Great looking Beamer and drives like a dream-Mrs Reb has a silver one that I sometimes am allowed to drive-repeat sometimes :(

Great looking car Ron and glad to hear no one was hurt. I'm sure you'll figure out a way to sneak in some purchases ;)

You gave up toy soldiers for a CAR!!!

I'm still driving my wife's old 95 Honda Accord with over 160K on it. I'm trying to avoid car payments for as long as I possible can. Cars come and go, but toy soldiers are forever. :D

Good luck with the Beemer!

P.S. Ron, I hope you know that RED cars get the most speeding tickets. :(

Take it from someone who knows. :p

Ron,

I know what it is. Last year we bought a Mazda MX5, it is a fun car and a hobby vehicle we both enjoy. It made collecting pause for a while. But in the end the fun part is; yesterday my wife drove me in the Mazda to my LHS to collect my order of King & Country (of course they where Naps!) She enjoyed the visit and was enchanted by the street of Hong Kong range, Double joy:D:D:D:D, I purchased some figures of that range. Boy am I a lucky guy:D

So have fun

Richard

Nice Car! Come on Ron who are you kidding,:D you will sneak a toy soldier or 5 in some how. :D

Recession...........what Recession? Good to see someone in the good ol U.S.A. isn't hurting. I would have thought Capitolron by association with the US government would have to set an example and buy only American or at the very least buy FRENCH! Buying German seems like Sacriledge! Wouldn't your wife look good in a peppy little 3cylinder Renault or Peugot? :D

Ron,

I think you need to sell me your JJD Monongahela range figures to help you fund that purchase for your wife. ;)

Awesome car! Where was the picture taken? In an airplane hanger?

Darrell

Thanks Guys - for your kind remarks.

I doubt this purchase will end my Toy Soldier Collecting ;) - however, $50K does take a big bite into your bank account - but, she rides great !

To answer some points:

1) German Clients - buy German Car ! :D

2) Wife very happy - no dog house here.

3) UK Reb - LOL - Never Surrender - Calvary Deployment has just been pushed back a little. :)

4) Louis - I am sooooooo Caferful :p

5) Heid - LOL - you crack me up - does it come with free fish too ?

6) Darrell - dealer pictures - I will have more fun shots posted later !
