My BOM dio - A work in progress (2 Viewers)

The dio that I am working on right now is of the battle itself. I will do another one later with the army in route. I have to do a ton of ground work and trees yet to do. Plus place the French and Indians. This display measures 48" long x 22" deep. I plan on hand making the trees with branches that extend over the column. I would like for it to have a "forest canopy" effect. I expect this project to take most of the year since I have two small children which demand a lot from their daddy when I get home from work. I have 201 figures in this display plus horses, wagons, cannons, etc....

The last photo is my display here at the office. One of these days, as I mentioned earlier, I will place them in a dio as well. My curio cabinet is 5' long, so I will need about 10' to do this. I doubt I will get to it this year. I have 108 figures in this photo plus horses, wagons, cannons, etc....

That's the most BoM sets I've ever seen displayed at one time.

Simply love the whole idea of this diorama - a mass of troops in confusion. The mixing in of the wagons really helps sell the thought of a "good idea gone bad" for the British. The new BoM regulars look great. From the French/Indian Side, it is a tad hard to miss hitting something.

Good luck with fine tuning the display and the vegetation. Waiting with anticipation on the trees.

Yes, this is an impressive collection. At first, it was the sheer size of the display that I noticed. Then, the more I look at it, the tension of the moment is captured perfectly by both the figures and your planned dio arrangement!

Simply fabulous,
the first Monongahela marching set I saw was the push that convinced me to start collecting Jenkins toy soldiers and I still think this the more interesting series made by our artist. Great display!

Thanks for sharing your dio. Stripped of any scenery, it stands on its own as an attempt to convey the brutality and horror of that event. With Braddock's men so densely packed together, you've certainly conveyed the sense of desperation.
