My D day Dio part 1. (1 Viewer)

Rob,
Fantastic! Just get rid of those 20th Century new-fangled machines and pop in a 19th Century Royal Navy launch!!!!!:p Great job!
Mike

Thank you Mike,I need K&C to make a 1/30 HMS Victory;)

Very impressive Rob. I know you've only been making dios for a short time but this one is your best so far. I think you made a great decision to buy that second LCA. The sea and sand look great. Well done mate!

Thanks James,I appreciate that. When I got the second LCA I was worrying that its quite a lot of dosh for a multiple item, but I'm glad I did now!;)

Not long until London mate!:):)

That's what I am most impressed with Rob-I got the impression you were a novice guy like me. To see you work up that diorama is impressive to say the least- makes me want to give it a stab. My Dad was talking to me about doing some sort of water dio (for my Conte Roman War Galley) since he is a railroad guy. He has done some pretty neat terrain for his Z SCALE  Trains.

Cheers

Have a go Chris, its very rewarding and great fun to share with other folk on here.I can hardly believe I got such nice remarks for my work from some real masters of the art, can't wait to start my next project.

Rob

Guys, any of you out there got both of the LCA's?.I'm sure there was several of us who went for both, would be good to see your pics and how you display them.

Nicely done Rob! Excellent work. I had no idea there was so much latent diorama-building talent in you just waiting to manifest itself. Thanks for sharing the photos and the how-tos.

I'm very impressive with your diorama and I have to admit when I first saw it I was wondering who made it for you but you did it yourself. Great job!

Not yet, I have to get the bunker and free up the shelf space first, but I do have plans to!

Oh, and I haven't said it yet, but great display, Rob. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Excellent work, Rob. The two landing crafts look very nice together. The water looks great and I like the way you did the shoreline, with the little rocks and the change of colors where the water has washed over the sand. Even the craters on the beach look great. Congratulations on a job very, very nicely done. I look forward to seeing the next part of your diorama up the road. George

George, thank you very much indeed.Your comments are very kind,I can't tell you how much all these wonderfully kind posts have meant to a novice as myself.I really enjoyed making this model and was a little nervous about posting it as there are so many dio experts on here. The response I've had has made me want to get on and start pt2,and I will do that as soon as possible. Thanks again George.

Rob

WHOOO, That is way sweet. Love the way you did the water and the craters.
