I have a small FOV collection on display. If I had more room to display them, I would buy two or three times as many vehicles. I really believe they are a great value for the money.

Photo one: From left, Tiger, King Tiger, Quad 20-mm, Hanomag, M116 Quad 50, and Matilda.

Photo two: Close-up of King Tiger with Frontline Figures add-on Fallschrimjaegers and crew set.

Photo three: Close-up of Matilda and Frontline Figures personality set of Churchill and Montgomery.

Nice collection and I agree with you.

That is definitely a nice collection Mike. I think you're right the FoV AFV's are great value for money - but I've never been impressed with their figures. I do like your frontline Fallschrimjaeger tank riders. I must remember and check out the frontline webpage and see just exactly what they have available.

I don't care for FOV's figures either. You don't see ANY of them on display in my collection. By all means check out Frontline Figures WWII section which has sets in matte, 1/32 scale specifically designed for particular FOV vehicles. The King Tiger set actually has nine figures---four crew men and five Falschrijaeger.

Yeah, I did have a closer look. I do have the frontline flying tiger figures, but had no real interest in their other ranges until I saw your collection. I was quite impressed with what I saw on their website. Can't see me going for them big-time but I can definitely see possibilities for improving the look of FoV vehicles - as you've demonstrated.
I reckon that you can just about get away with displaying the larger FoV stuff with K&C, but the smaller vehicles get swamped. So yeah, frontline are definitely worth considering for displaying with the smaller FoV items.

The FOV Panzer crew figs seem closer to 1/35 scale but are better detailed than the early true 1/32 FOV soldier sets. Btw, I have noted that the 21st Century figures are getting better. Imo K & C figs would look way to big with FOV vehicles.

The K&C figures do look big against the FoV vehicles. Don't look too bad with the bigger vehicles though IMO. Depends how much of a "Nelson's Eye" you have, and are willing to let go I guess.
Yeah, I know......left myself wide open with that last one. :)

Hi UCLA,
I like the figures of Monty and Churchill. Who made them?
Thanks
Benjamin

They are made by Frontline Figures. They gave you the set for free if you bought a certain number of their WWII sets. I don't remember the exact number of sets required since I bought enough at one time at the West Coaster to qualify for the free set. Their website is www.frontline-figures.com.

Hello, I like your collection. In fact it inspired me to move forward and finally start collecting for myself. But all of these comments about FOV figs made me wonder: After seeing some of the Enthusiast edition figs like the 6 that come with the German halftrack does everyone still think they suck? I think they look pretty good when compared to the ones you see from older vehicles or what you might find at Target or Toys-R-Us.

Also I went to the Frontline website and was horrified to see the prices for these figs. For instance the crew with the FOV King Tiger, they want $155!!! Even if the tank is included that's still an extra $100 just for the figs! Is this right? Do these tiny little things really average THAT MUCH?!!!

Thanks,

-Joseph

Always like looking at displays. My collection started out like that and then I just kept seeing things I "needed". I just tell my wife that I could be out boozing and with me buying toys instead of at the bar, she gets to have me home all the time. :D:D
Now I am looking forward to moving into my new house next week and getting my things out of storage.

I also collect all the FoV tanks and vehicles. The tank rider figures with the newer version Tiger, Sherman,Halftrack and King Tiger are great, much improved over the original soldiers. Some of the Best soldiers out their for my money.I only wish they would make some new infantry to go with the tank riders. WW2 Frontline Figures are very nice also, but a different price point.

Don't you sell tanks on ebay? I think I recently bought about three tanks off of you. Great transactions!

Hey there UCLA, I'ld see what those tanks are on the top shelf. Are they FOV also? I have just started collecting their tanks and am really enjoying it. For some strange reason I find myself drawn to the medium and light tanks mostly. How about some more pics?

Yeah I'd like to see what's on the top shelf too.

I like to display my FoV vehicles with my Frontline 1/32 Ruined Normandy Village and Frontline WW2 figures.

Hi Joseph, welcome to the world of metal figure collecting! :D Yes, they cost that much. I too was shocked when I first got into this hobby but once you start collecting them you start to realize the appeal of collecting hand-painted limited edition metal figures over mass-produced, poorly painted junk such as the figures that come with FOV's otherwise superb vehicles. $155/9 works out to around $17 per figure, which is actually cheap when most metal toy soldier manufacturers are now averaging $25-$30 per figure. Frontline figures are not the best in the industry anymore, but trust me, the price isn't bad relative to other manufacturers.

I have several Frontline artillery sets with crews and the figures are fine.

The FOV soldier sets are poor but their vehicle/tank crew figures are acceptable imo.

I am new to this but, I really like the FOV vehicles. Plus they're fairly easy on the wallet. My collection has suddenly began growing rather rapidly. It's still in its infancy but It's coming along.
