Well I have resurfaced and painted the 4'x8' table I'll be using to display my Britains Napoleonic collection. I am not in any hurry to do any serious landscaping just yet - in case Britains comes out with more Hougoumont buildings (also, JG Miniatures is seriously considering Hougoumont as a project).

This is what I have so far:

Wonderful Mike, you have gathered quite the collection of figures  I like the surgeon set, I hope Britains will bring out something similar for the Rorke's Drift.

Very nice Mike. Are you just starting your Napoleanic collection or have you been collecting them for awhile?Still got your Crusade line?

Hello Mark -
Just started collecting Britains Napoleonics about 5 weeks ago. Still got my Crusaders. Nothing new has come out from K&C on their Crusader line - got tired of waiting on new Crusader additions so I decided to start something different - Waterloo.

Sitting here "playing" with what Napoleonics I have while llistening to the CD "Redcoats and Bluejackets" by the Canadian group Simpson's Folly. The whole CD is late 18th and early 19th century (mostly Napoleonic War tunes) British Army and British Navy songs. Certainly a "good listen" while imagining the struggle at Hougoumont.

Good hearing from you -

Mike

Mike,
Nice WB figures and a great story to tell of the farms at Waterloo. And to be able to do it on a 4' x 8' table! That is a lot of room to play with:D

Nice to see you're able to shift gears and start up a new collection; you picked a terrific topic with this one and Britains has done some great sets to help you fill out a diorama on this subject. You can really go to town on this, it was a battle within a battle. Keep us posted on your progress.........

Mike

Taking shape very nicely. Am almost imagining the finished project. As I said previously an 8 X 4 area is an almost perfect display area to depict a specific part of a historical scrap such as your subject choice in 1/30 scale. And a big plus is having those splendid walls and gate as a center point which will help to anchor the viewers eyes because without that as I have found all too often myself 32 square footage without any dioramic pieces needs a hell of a lot of figures to fill it up.

Look forward to the progress

Bob

Mike, You have already have a nice collection, this will be a grand dio when complete.

If you like the Sharpe series, try and get a copy of the sound track - it's great!
