I've seen Goya's painting of them fighting in Spain. Did the Mamelukes get into many battles.
Awww, Grognard...
Now see, you went and gave me TS envy again!
What a lovely little grouping. I am particularly fond of the one in various shades of red (with no moustache)...I take it that he is Roustan (at least how I imagined him).
Who produced him? Looks Russian.
No it's Frenchand yes, this is Roustan. I bought this one in France in Paris. It is from Le Cimier and the sculptor is Roger Roussel. Please see:

Yo Trooper, sorry but I am one person that does not go along with these different levels of painting IE: collector painted €136.00 or top quality painted €289.00. So say I buy a collector painted at €136.00 but knowing its not as good as it should be. I collect Chas Stadden models and when they were sold painted they were given the best by the artist, not we can do it better if you pay another €153.00. If that were the case with Chas Stadden models I wouldn't buy them in the first place. Does not impress me one bit all these levels of painting, its either the best you can do or I dont buy it, sorry but thats my honest opinion.
Bernard.

Russian school of painting figures involves several levels of complexity of painting. In our studio there are 5 grades, studio Arseniev has 10 levels
Lower level does not mean that the figure is worse
Any figure any level is drawn by one master and the master gives part of his soul
Different levels of the figures needed to solve different problems
If you need to build a diorama of tens or hundreds of pieces do not need to buy the piece of
highest level of complexity
We reserve the right to choose the level of painting to you
(Sorry for my english)
