Depending on where you are on the globe and the time zone differences... yes is approaching 31 midnight already ^&grin...

Hi Guys,
Just a note of thanks to our good friend from Singapore and his excellent photos… The clarity and detail is first class….Well done.
Now, tell us how you did it! Best wishes and a very Happy New Year.
All the best and Happy Collecting,

Here's how's done....

1. A DIY softbox with a flash (Speedlite) to get the background all "white"

Setup3.jpg

2. A DSLR and accessories

Setup6.jpg

3. Some IKEA lamps with PHILIPS bulbs

Setup9.jpg

4. The setup from top view (I used 2 flash for this setup)

Setup12.jpg

5. Just move the lamps nearer/further from the figures to get the lightings you require.

setup13.jpg

6. Focus and shoot.

Noticed the unprocessed image is already "95% there" - just some sharpening and you will have your final image.

7. This is how the final image looks like after Post Processing in Photoshop (resize, sharpening and levels adjust - that's all)

Does anyone know what the green and black patch on the junior officer's right upper arm is? Doesn't look like tank destruction badges, but it is the right location.

Actually answered my own question and the patch means he is an Oberst or Colonel. This is how officer rank was indicated on smocks.

I think this lady pair better with this male opera singer though...

Made a stand for this figure using TAMIYA putty so I can photgraphy it full-height and standing ^&grin
