N.F.L. 24-25 Season (3 Viewers)

Can you imagine growing up with rap and then getting much older and say, classic rap, boy, those were the days. I grew up during the disco era and there's actually a lot of good songs. Fortunately, that was also the classic rock era too.
Tastes in popular music change. Rap is now what appeals to many people. That’s why Bad Bunny is a headliner at the halftime show.

I guess boycott them if you have to...your prerogative...

me...I like all types of music...classic rock...folk...country...Motown...jazz...blues...some rap...

even a Mariachi band if I'm eating Mexican food... :)

can't abide with disco much...but I won't lie...I'm sure I have a Bee Gee's song on my Spotify...
I like rock, everything from Aerosmith to Van Halen to ELO to Fleetwood Mac to Journey to ACDC to The Who to Boston to Iron Maiden to Judas Priest, easy listening from the 70's, disco/dance music from the 70's, soul/motown from the 70's, 80's Freestyle dance music, the second British Invasion bands, hair bands, up to 90's rock like the Foo Fighters, 90's trance dance music, not into jazz, folk or blues, some country, some rap as well, I also like bands like the Gypsy Kings.

The music from the 70's/80's/90's blows away most of the hot garbage that has come out the past 10 to 15 years.

And I suppose 20 and 30 somethings will tell you their music is great; no, it's not, it sucks.

There was no autotune or lip synching back then like there is all over the place now.

What I don't like as Doug said is pushing an agenda, which is why no halftime performances for me from either side, period, end of story.

Sell your nonsense somewhere else, I'm not buying it.

The Grammy's this year were an absolute disgrace with all the political crap, blow it your backside, I don't want a sanctimonious lecture from some no talent hack with an IQ two above plant life that has no idea what they are talking about, it's all about a huge attention grab while virtue signaling, these morons who live in million dollar mansions are standing up for illegal aliens who could care less about them.

So about 2.5 days away from the Super Bowl.

In short, this game will come down to which QB plays better; if Maye sucks like he did in the three playoff games and Darnold plays like he did vs the Rams/channels his inner Nick Foles and plays way above his pay grade like he did back in 2018, the Seahawks will win the game, if he sees ghosts and is a turnover machine like he was during the season and Maye protects the ball and has a halfway decent game, the Patriots will win.

Out of about 100 or so from ESPN/NFL Network and such polled, about 90 picked Seattle.

Good for them.

If Seattle did not score on that whacky two point conversion vs the Rams, they would have been the 5 seed and probably don't get to the SB; instead, they beat up on a wounded 49ers team and beat the Rams solely due to some moron muffing a punt that led to a gift 7 points/decided the game.

Suddenly they are now a combination of the 85 Bears and 01 Rams............................we'll see about that.

The Patriots according to many had a soft schedule are lucky to be here/don't belong there.....................ok, so who from the AFC "belongs there" instead..........Buffalo? Choking dogs............Denver; their QB got hurt, that's the nature of the NFL...............who else?

They 1000% BELONG there, they earned the trip to the SB, so stop with the BS.

Regardless of the outcome, this has been a highly entertaining season, that's all as a fan I can ask.

If they win, great, if they lose, oh well, that's the way the ball bounces.

Time will tell.

I see this game as either an ugly low scoring defensive struggle in which either team could win a close game (best case for the Pats) or a Seachickens blowout. Maye has been awful. The Seattle D is great. So the Pats D has to generate turnovers and play a field position game to steal it.

And there's the rub; if I'm skipping bad ballbags show due to it being a woke self serving political statement, I'd be a hypocrite to tune into the other show which will be more of the same from the other side.

No thanks to both.
I'm going to watch it just because it is hard to look away. Like an automobile accident. The NFL has made a gamble that these types of performers will draw new viewers. They are also trying desperately to make the NFL an international brand. That calculation backfires if as many or more people are offended by this nonsense than there are new viewers. On the other hand, I suppose all publicity and controversy is good for viewership to some extent. I had never even heard of this guy and couldn't believe he was for real. I thought he was the Da Ali G character from Sacha Baron Cohen. Just another example that we are living in the age of Idiocracy.

You sound like the parents from our generation who told you what you listen to was terrible. It’s cyclical. What the 20s and 30s like now, when they have kids, they will hate what their kids listen to.

When I watch some of the shows from the 60s on YT like Dick Clark or Soul Train, some of the performances seem lip synced.

As Mike Miller and Tom Dubel said, the NFL has guys like us as fans already, they are looking for new fans, so putting Bad Ballbag up there as halftime entertainment is to draw in viewers who could care less about football, knowing the NFL and how they have this license to print money, this is going to be HUGE, it will be the highest rated halftime show ever, mark it down now, in pen.

Having a huge US fan base is not enough for these clowns, they want worldwide fans too, anything and everything to draw more fans, mo money, mo money, mo money, it's all about how much money they can stuff into their pockets, the owners I guess aren't rich enough.

Speaking of worldwide fans, the NFL is going to Australia next season, 49ers vs Rams.

Right, I'm older and I know the difference between good music and crap.

Morons like Willie Eyelash and Shaboozebag and Justin Bieber all suck, terrible "music", more like no talent hacks.

Give me Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes, Jefferson Starship, the Carpenters, Linda Ronstadt, ELO, etc, etc.

My parents never had a problem to what I listened to, my Mom liked a lot of the same music as I did in the 70's between easy listening and motown/soul, my Mom was a "with it" woman, a queen, she was one in a million.

My Dad loved Motown, not a fan of hard rock/blazing guitars, he used to say "My God, that music goes right through me!!".............

R.I.P. Mom and Dad, I miss you every day.

Cowboys are also going to play in Rio de Janeiro… their opponent has not been disclosed yet

In 2026 the NFL is gonna have nine international games… trying to spread the word and gather as many fans as they can

As I said previously music is subjective and personal.

You have to listen to it and let it digest. Don't quickly dismiss it. As far as current music being junk, I kind of had those same thoughts, but my daughter changed my mind. She has a large range of music not heard on the radio and its excellent. BTW, I'm rooting for the Pats.

If there were any doubt about the greed, the owners are pushing for an 18th game. It makes me laugh when they put on those pillow helmets and pretend like anyone is interested in player safety. If that were the case, they would go back to a 14-game schedule instead of adding yet more games. These players are going to have a head of full of pudding when their careers end. Even if the halftime show is the worst in history, the media will proclaim it the greatest performance since Elvis. I watched that Kendrick Lamar guy last year or whenever and couldn't make heads or tails out of it.

I’ve found that with some music that you may not like initially you need to let it sit for awhile so it can run around in your mind.

I would be absolutely fine with this guy performing his music even if I didn't care for it. Everyone has subjective likes and dislikes. Not everything will appeal to everyone. It's not really about that. What I find objectionable is that this performance is as much about making a political statement as it is entertainment. They are making no secret of that. If it is going to be a politically motivated show to shove down our throats a viewpoint that I find objectionable, then it can be criticized for that reason. I will watch it not to be entertained but see the extent to which they allow this to become a circus. Then I will forget it ever happened and watch the game.

I truly believe the NFL has no business in allowing political statements by any halftime entertainer...it's not the proper venue...maybe it's part of a contract concession by the NFL for his appearing to appease him to perform...as he is the world superstar I'm sure a lot of his fans will tune in and it will most definitely boost viewing ratings...meaning future higher ad and contract revenues...I have read what is planned by BB and it's probably not welcome by the majority of
"true football fans"...or even casual watchers...I honestly can't remember the last time I did watch the half time show...even missing Jackson's "nipple slip"...still...as I'm not a captive audience and can flip channels...I will watch it as I'm curious how much leverage the NFL is going to allow...

Agreed, my 21 year old will tell you that most stuff from the last decade is shiite. He listens to everything from Ozzy to Jazz to Sinatra to Iron Maiden, GNR, etc. Main interest is Fleetwood Mac. One thing he will say is that he likes Harry Styles, but he thinks Taylor Swift's music sucks. He thinks Laddy Gaga is extremely talented.

Bottom line, what he doesn't like is no talent acts and he is a pretty good critic since he can sing and play everything from Ozzy Osbourne to Frank Sinatra!

I have to agree with him. Remember 90% of the "Hair Band" music was actually written and composed by those bands, crazy huh? Today, let me know which "Star" actually writes their own music? So for all of fun made at Poison for example, all Bret Michaels has to say is look at my monthly royalty income.....................mic drop.

Regarding Bad Ballbag; he said when he was announced as the SB halftime act that "Americans have 4 months to learn Spanish"........

Really; how about GFY, how about that.

He does not live in this country, so why should anyone care what his political opinions are?

Again, how about GFY.

If the hosts of the party I am attending tomorrow want to watch this POS sing for 20 minutes, I'll go stand outside instead........at gametime, temps here with the wind chill will be in the single digits, I'd rather subject myself to that than his music and his politics.
