NAPOLEON FANS - Time to Stand Up and be Counted! (1 Viewer)

I wonder if Rons WW2 collection will end up being bigger than his Naps?.I am probably going to cave and collect ACW/WW1 this year and who knows how big these collections will become. We are all lost in a sea of temptation being swept along on an undercurrant of want and desire!!!.

I even surprised myself there Brad, someone must have slipped something in my cornflakes this morning!

No - NAPOLEON MUST BE # 1 !

But, I am kinda worried myself  - One minute I am reading some great Waterloo material and the next minute - I AM A MAD MAN  bidding on every WWII Tank on Ebay. Its like the WWII fever takes over and you become another person................like, like, like..............

FLYING OFFICER CAPITOLRON

Looking for the King and Country WWII Kill - aghhhhhhhh

See what I mean.

Ron

I see whats happening Ron, and its only natural. Its like Jekyll and Hide. You've turned from a happy Napoleonic collecting chappy into a rabid must have WW2 animal!.Scouring ebay for stuff you've missed is classic symptoms of this terminal condition. And although you will fiecely deny it you will awake one beautiful morning to the terrible realization that your WW2 collecting is more important than your Naps.Yes i can hear shouting, swearing and denying it could ever happen, but face it Ron its going to happen.!

How do i know all this, because i was that happy WW1 collecting chappy.Until one Saturday morning in the wonderful city of London i stopped to look at the table of K&C UK.And the madness began..........

Rob

Ron,
Remember what we talked about on Saturday; collect what you like, don't get caught up in the sea of retired items as it can be overwhelming. Sorry about the DD 45, the guy at the show who bought it was sweating it out waiting for you to take a pass on it and when you did, BOOM, he moved in for the kill.

As far as the WWII stuff that is not retired and still on the market you are after, well, you know the drill, or I should say the NORTHERN DRILL.............woof woof, that's my other dog imitation.........

NAPOLEON !

We havent seen that in a while and since it is his thread ...... :D :D :D

Oh no!!! Coming soon from ron!!!HITLER!!! :p You guys are in trouble!!! Maybe he,ll lighten up on us napoleonic collectors for awhile with his new WWII interests.

LOL :D Fishead

You will always have me in NAPOLEONIC WORLD - Always.

OOh fubar thats harsh,he's not feeling the love!!!

Rob

The truth often is harsh. I dont even know what I meant exactly just being a smart ---.

Hows this for Napoleonic enthusiasm. I am seriously considering a 28mm collection for Waterloo Campaign on a 1to 20 Ratio, 1 fig = 20 real men.Infantry Regiments will have to be Battalions so I am fudging somewhat.
A HUGE endevour ,logistical nightmare just organizing it all and probably the LAST major collection I attempt.

Every Nationality, troop type is available these days with such wonderful sculpting and animation ,I just can't help myself.

They are amazing! Reminds me of all the wargames figures I painted years ago, except they were 20mm then 25mm and not quite to this standard. Do you remember the early MiniFigs and Hinchliffe ranges? The good old days eh!

Jeff

Yes, I remember them but never had any.I started 15mm Wargames back in the early 80's with Minifigs and Heritage ACW. Wasnt until a few years later I started Napoleonics .All my 15mm are gone, Mostly have 25mm Ancients and Dark ages in that scale and of course 54mm everything.
Heres another image of some Commanders.
They are Perry miniatures and the reason I have taken up this scale for Napoleonics. There are others but I'm going with these for now.

Are these off their website?

Are you serious about 28mm Waterloo? That must equate to 1/2 ton of lead!
