Napoleon in Egypt. (2 Viewers)

My first step into Napoleonics will be with these, never thought I would touch this period, but at this point will only collect this desert campaign. Thanks K&C. Cheers, Robin.
Same here. I don't collect Naps, but I might well get these. Like the idea of buildings being available and the odd subject matter. The Egyptian Campaign is not well covered by anyone. This might be a good way to get some Naps without having to buy dozens of dups and I like the early uniforms. Now, where did I put that pyramid I built in the 4th grade.... -- Al

I know that late last year, someone in the know promised that K&C would be doing more with Egypt, but I couldn't imagine that we'd see BOTH Ancient Egypt AND Napoleon's Egyptian campaign back-to-back. I was just pleased to finally see more in the AE line, but this latest K&C foray really took me aback. Like some of you, I don't have much of a Nap. figures collection, but I'll certainly follow K&C into Egypt! The figure of Napoleon on the camel alone is well worth purchasing.

Andy, Many thanks for this new line. The figures are outstanding! By the way, I have the Wingate figure and love it. How about a figure of his father in the Sudan? This could be another collector club figure.
Benjamin

I didn't realize that was his father.Learn something new every day.

Should have guessed Randy would already be first to reach this inhospitable place. Cannot wait to catch up with my own expeditionary force. Quite excited about this range, thanks for posting the collector photo's. Cheers, Robin.

Randy..

Superb pictures as usual and look forward to the new releases being given the treatment

Yes, Egyptian newbies really need some of those nice backdrops. I just did miss snagging the pharoah's head on Ebay the other day.

We can now see what Andy has been hinting at over the past year, when he has said that he was bring out some very special for us in the Napoleonic line.

To be stictly accurate its pre-Napoleonic, but who cares, its a fork in the road that I hope will be filled with more wonderful figures from this doomed campaign 1798 - 1801.

Lets see what we have so far....

Gen Bonaparte on his camel, a native guide, 3 infantrymen wearing striped revolutionary tricolour trousers, a dragoon??? and artist and a ruin.

A good start, and to these figures the existing K&C buildings, trees, arabs, animals can be also added.

But whats next ???

Will we see a Regiment of Dromedaires, Demi Brigades in thier multi-coloured Egyptian made uniforms, Cavary (but only 1 Hussar, 1 Chasseur a Cheval or 5 Dragoon Regts), Artillery and what about the enemy??? Will we see British, Mamalukes, Turks ???

So far the poses are quite static, like a group of soldiers discovering this exotic land, so I hope this theme remains, in that way a huge diorama could be made.

All I know is this will be VERY colourful, and hopefully not too large a range, thats IF Andy keeps the 1815 Waterloo NAP range going. ( hope he does)

Looking forward to getting these guys, but only after I've cought up the rest of the NAPs.

Well Done Andy & Team....

What to the rest of you NAP collectors think ???

John

I'm all in. Absolutely outstanding figures and a brilliant surprise for Nap collectors.

And, I get to re-use diorama items I bought for WWII North Africa^&grin

Thank you, Andy:salute::

Great new direction, really looking forward to seeing this series unfold in the future, lots of exciting possibilities.

WoW !

^&grin ^&grin ^&grin

I leave the forum for awhile and all my Napoleonic Dreams Come True !!

What great new releases - Can't wait to buy them all !

LOVE THEM - Thanks Andy !

All I can say is :

NAPOLEON !

I got a nice close up look at this diorama at the Westcoaster...I could practically taste the sand and feel the goiter growing on my neck. What I liked in particular about these figures is that they were not just Naps transplanted into a sea of sand, but rather great care was taken to craft the uniforms and accessories uniquely for this theatre. I have to admit that the release took me by surprise...but very pleasantly!

I was going to suggest a figure of a fusilier running off with the Rosetta Stone, then I saw NE008 Soldier Kneeling, and I am pretty sure that is precisely what he is about to do.

I only dabble in Napoleonics, and when I first saw these I thought "OK, they are nice looking for those who are into this," but after looking at them more and more I really want to get most of them. I recently got into the Ancient Egypt line a little too, and I think putting the two side by side on a shelf would look great.

This is a very pleasant release indeed.
What I like most, is the variety of well done and unique "off duty" poses.
These will do great for colorful dioramas. Wonder what the missing numbers in the line of NE001 to NE012 will hold for us? As we could see in the fine diorama at the Westcoaster, one will probably be the standing Aid with the map. But there are a few more numbers to fill in. Looking forward to see them.
Konrad

I'm looking forward to seeing what the missing numbers are too, I know most people have commented that they like the fact that the figures are not in combat poses but I prefer fighting poses and as soon as these are released in firing, loading, charging ect. positions then I will certainly be buying some.
