I just receive the first dispatches from Monty's Toy Soldiers who said that in 2011 TG would be doing Napoleonics.

In addition, come 2012, new ranges for Vikings and Romans would be released.

From Andrews email
SPECIAL NEWS FROM TOM GUNN MINIATURES

This weeks special news is an email I had from Tom Gunn in relations to future releases and plans for next year. Here is Tom had to say -

From the start of next year you should expect to see the following pattern from us:

3 or 4 WW2 German figures per month maximum - less some months.

2 British / US WW2 figures per month.

2 Napoleonic figures.

1 NF figure or once every 2 months - cannot say what this is in more detail at the moment.

2 Ancient figures like Romans or Vikings every month - but not for a while yet, this maybe 2012.

That's a total of 8 to 9 figures per month approx not including vehicles! It looks like our first vehicle could be ready soon but it maybe that in the month we release that and we do not release an Germans or US figures to balance things out.

I think the NF range put on the website a few weeks back made it a cert he was moving into the Nap range as its popular and should be some great figures if previous stuff is anything to judge.

This news may be eliciting a slight groan from HK today.

Maybe, but also in Texas and a few other places as it will be hard to compete with TG's price range and quality of releases. Good for the consumer

...really like the idea of Ancients.....I think I can wait for awhile for the Romans or Vikings ....it will give me something to look forward too......:D:D

Any quality Napoleonics would be appreciated but 1-2 figures per month is rather limited to say the least. That probably works a bit better with the ancients. I wish them well on their new areas; no question it is nice to see them doing something else besides WWII.

Very good news as far as WWII figures are concerned.
It does not matter for me if they are Germans .US/or British
Also good news for my fellow collectors who are intersted in other eras

You're absolutely right: interesting price range and quality figures.I can only say:" keep them coming Tom"
Guy;)

I think some have to remember that TG is a new company with little over a years service and have addressed WWII very well in terms of price and quality. I think dipping their toes into other ranges so early is brave and a couple of releases a month will see how they can do the product and how it will be recieved by the collectors worldwide. To release a raft of naps initially would be unwise. I would venture they will add substantially more soon after these releases hit the market.

I wonder what the runs will be as I know Nap collectors who collect thirty plus figures of each release wonder if these ranges will be more open ended than the WWII stuff

Its building strong foundations for the future and hope the Naps are a success

Another player into the Napoleonic range... OH GOOD :)

With an initial release of 2 figures then one every 2 months, that’s a small range so I’ll wait until they are announced to see what they are like before I'd place a definite order.

Maybe Tom will be making some intersting poses of minor players in the conflicts and not the usual British and French, such as Austrians, Russians, Prussians and the minor German states but if their WW2 figures are anything to go on, Naps could be a real winner and will sell out quickly, so I’d like to get in early with this range.

Mitch,

The NF series is not Nap's it is something else.

Here is another little comment from Tom about the new NF Series:

After Christmas you should see the launch of an entirely new series – nothing like it on the market at the moment and I am hoping it will set us apart and bring on board some new collectors. Its not strictly military but it does have a military twist so get your thinking cap on!

Now the question is what the hell could it be

John,

I have been trying to talk Tom into Brunswickers, Austrians & Prussians.

And on even better news he is talking about some Aussies maybe later next year, here is hopeing. ;)

Personally i think its a waste of time and resources, who collects this boring line anyway.............................
Just concentrate more on WW2 Germans especially vehicles (soft skin) and large Anti-air/anti-tank guns in Grey.

Just joking all this should be a very interesting venture looking forward to the first release............................:)

Wayne,

You are just looking for a fight, wars have been stared over less. :D:D;)
