Why was targeting not called on goaline? Defensess receiver and launch?

Awful game exciting for last 5min

Yeah, I don't get that one either.

If you combined the rosters of Tulane and JMU, they'd still get blown out, Notre Dame and Vanderbilt or Texas would have been better choices, these two teams are nothing more than cannon fodder.

The NCAA is trying to make the CFP like March Madness.

The only problem is that football is not basketball.

There are no mid-majors in football, most years there are 2 teams that are all but guaranteed to win it all.

My thought exactly; Oregon has how many 4 and 5 star recruits on their roster?

A playoff no matter the sport should feature the best teams, period.

Tuned into ESPN a couple nights ago to watch Sportscenter and there was some bowl game still on.

It was the Scooter Bowl. Western Tech something vs. State something.

I started to wonder who would watch this and then I realized that all the announcers talked about was the point spread etc.

Ok, fair enough, it was made for gamblers.

Then when the game ended they showed the bowl trophy, the presentation of that trophy would be on ESPN 3.

Now who is going to watch that? Can you bet on something about the trophy?

The bowl games have been surprisingly entertaining. Interestingly, it is the playoff games that have been duds.
I thought the old Aloha, now Hawaiin bowl on Christmas Eve was one of the better game I watched all year. Great finish.

Speaking of endings, how does the LSU guy miss the onside kick right to him, they would have had the chance to tie. He just missed it somehow, I had to rewatch that play about 4 times.

Watching the SC bowl game tonight and I don't recognize 95% of players on their team despite watching every game this season. Weird.

Agreed, there have been some great and competitive games that have come down to a last possession or even OT.

And that is the season - Hook Em Horns! Great performance by Arch Manning today. Crazy with the opt outs - Texas had I think 7 or 8 of 11 out of Defense and about 5 from offense including both starting running backs. Interesting that the running backs are entering the portal.

Shades of Michael Vick...155 yards rushing by Manning!

Great win for UT with a tip of the cap to a Michigan team that showed up despite being surrounded by tabloid driven turmoil.

Yeah great, "hook em".................THE most annoying phrase in sports...........reminds me of that moronic commercial where the stooge leaves the pen unlocked and the UT mascot escapes, he just has to throw a "hook em" in at the end after all the mayhem he caused.

And in other news; Miami shocks the world and beats tOSU.

Gee, a Matt Patricia defense that can't get a stop down the stretch; I've seen that movie before.

This makes up for the screw job on Miami 23 years ago in the national championship game vs tOSU.

Bye teams in the new format are now 0-5; they need to rethink this, bye teams should get a home game, not sure if that would help.

The committee looks good now don't they for letting Miami in and not ND; funny though in that Miami lost to Duke, who lost to UConn, who got destroyed by Army in the bowl game they played at Fenway Park.

That was a fun game to watch with no rooting interest.

Watching Ray Lewis and Michael Irvin on the sidelines, not so much.

Aw George, you get a break for about 6 months, then it will be all Arch again. Which I am not real happy about, he plays better when not the subject of every sports headline, I guess who wouldn’t. As to Miami, I am impressed but I agree a bye week is not favorable in this format. Osu looked flat as a pancake. Today’s games are hopefully enjoyable. I am pulling for Ole Miss, hope I don’t jinx them!

His Father looks like a complete toolbag in that cowboy hat............."Is that a 10 gallon hat or are you just enjoying the show?"................

And yes, it's easy to light up a team with no pressure on you.

Texas Tech barring a miracle comeback is about to make it 0-6 for bye teams.

Bye teams now at 0-6.

What a disaster, everything the NCAA touches turns to...................

I agree, hat was awful, we all commented on it here, that was not a Texas cowboy hat, really not sure what it was honestly!

Looked like something you'd buy at the gift shop in the Alamo.................;)..............

And not for nothing, but Texas would have done better in this "tournament" than some of the other posers.

Why not just take the top 16 ranked teams and call it a day, no byes, 1-16, 2-15, etc, top 8 teams get a home game, the surviving 8 play in the Cotton, Orange, Rose and Sugar Bowl, problem solved.

Finding it hard to care who wins these games. Indiana seems like the best neutral pick as they are at least new to the playoff. Their QB also seems like a modest guy for someone who just won the Heisman. Quite a contrast to that QB from Vandy. I think Georgia is going to roll Ole Miss tonight and run the table but I hope I'm wrong.
