Looking to purchase an Honour Bound Panther. Wanted to know what some people thought of the Honour Bound version? Looking to add with my K&C figures/vehicles along a Normandy theme. Does it have good detail, Etc?
Thanks to all who respond.

I can't think you will get any other response than as follows: They are the best AFV's to hit the market, the wheel base was first rate and the superstructure detail is excellent Collected all the normal release versions and am not in anyway dissapointed with them. They are accurate and have a great weight and sturdy feel to them with some great crew to go with them.

Get them as a priority for your collection Nobody has outdone or, ever will, beat HB for quality IMO

I have two of the HB Panthers and I can't add anything to what Mitch said. The HB armor is the best. -- Al

I agree with a qualifier: they are the best principally polystone vehicles to hit the market. I have all of them except the Sturmtiger, and they are terrific, not quite up the quality of Figarti and the new resin and metal tanks, but that's apples to oranges.

I have all the Panthers myself, but the quality vary with mine. My Bergpanthers & Jagdpanthers have better track detail than my standard Panthers, except for the Winter Panther, I don't know why that is though? Maybe the standard Panthers were made first, then the other ( later ) types were improved apon?

Louis, your Figarti track comment suprizes me somewhat. In my view Figarti hasn't reached the quality level of HB's track so far. I find the resin Figarti tracks to be very brittle and they vary widely in quality ( alingment, ) from vehicle to vehicle of the same type and finding a "good one" must be hand picked. Is Figarti making metal tracks now?

IXEC; The best tracks and suspension ever done on a finished AFV are on Minichamps 1/35.
The t34-1943 is very nice with rubber rims on the bogies. The second best tracks were on
Tamiya and Academy 1/25 models which have individual link working tracks and operating tortsion bar suspensions. The Tiger and T34-85 from Tamiya go very well with the larger K and C figures which range up to 68 to 70 MM high. The Tamiya Tiger I also has interior detail equal to the Figarti 1/32 Tiger I masterpiece series. Originally issued in 1969 it has recently been reissued at $89.00 available on Ebay. The Academy Panther and Jagdpanther are also quite nice. !/25 scale AFV's are fairly easy to assemble the parts being larger than 1/35. Regards

Hi Katana

Any chance of a picture of a 1/25 tamiya or academy tank with some 1/30th figures next to it or on it, to show a scale comparison? Tasca also now make some nice 1/24 tanks.

regards

stephen

Fab-Two; Sorry I do not have any photos available; however if you do a search on Ebay for a Tamiya 1/25 Tiger the sites that have it have very detailed photos. The height of the deck is 70 MM which is close to the height of many 1/30 figures which with some manufacturers trend to oversize! Regards

Hey, another Laurel and Hardy fan! I could watch "Sons of the Desert" a thousand times. Regarding the HB Panthers, you can't go wrong. The only caveat might be the colors are a bit more subdued than KC. Also, the figures are slighter. If you are using them with KC, it might not be a perfect match. My favorite HB Panther was the winter version.

combat..

Agree about the muted tones but, I like that as it offers the collector the chance of a tank which, looks different to a 'straight from the factory'' look
The winter ones are probably the best they did and, agree about the Laural and Hardy film awesome

i have a couple jagdpanthers, barkmans panther, a winter sherman and just won a resupply panther and they are all great, especially the german vehicles. get them while you can. as for figarti, well its hard to beat the realistic look of their armor. if you get the panther i reccomend there hitler jugend 4 man sets, as the figures have great camo and look like teenage boys. one of if not my most favorite set of german infantry among all makers
