You got to admire the originality
OK, I stand corrected. The word "always" is incorrect in regards to the eagle on the left arm. I have photographic evidence that shows an SS officer with an Army style eagle on the right brest of his uniform jacket. He is on detached service to the army, for training. Unable to say how widespread this was and whether it actually took place in the field but the left arm eagle is an SS uniform regulation that is a identifying uniform factor. Earlier in this thread, a question was asked about the eagle style, SS vs Army. The two styles are distinct but crossover was not uncommon. Because of shortages, SS personel quite often wore Army style eagles, but in the correct SS uniform locations. Army wearing SS eagles is much less common. The SS eagle style is a good identifying factor, but one cannot rule out the Army eagle on SS troops. -- AlI would hope that the German's uniform will be corrected before production. As a SS uniform, there should be NO eagle over the right brest pocket. The SS uniform jacket eagle was always on the left arm. Of course, the collar patches could be changed instead, but then the Totenkopf on the hat has to be dealt with. Just get rid of the brest eagle. -- Al
