Just had an email come in from my sales rep at Britains listing quite a few ACW, Napoleonic, Zulu War, WWI and WWII items for a Fall release, several limited edition ACW and Zulu sets; the ACW sets include several with fencing, if you set them all up together I assume you can replicate some of the action from Picketts Charge.

There is also a Lee's HQ coming, a set with Lee and some other Generals, plus a death of Cushing set with cannon, figures, etc, etc, loads of good stuff coming to your dealer of choice this Fall.

Well done Britains, well done..................

Thanks for the info! Excited to see future pictures of these upcoming sets.

Good, I look forward to seeing them soon! As much as I am a civil war buff I am still having a few issues with some of Britains figures. Mostly paint running onto other parts of the figure and such. I have such bad luck I guess.

As a Britains dealer I have sold thousands of their figures and never seen such an issue or had anybody
mention it. First time I have noted it being mentioned on the forum.

Were they like that at time of purchase or has it happened over time ? Either way I would assume your
dealer and or Britains could resolve this issue for you if you found the figure(s) are defective in some way.

Regards
Brett

In defence of Lo I too have began to notice (albeit on only two occasions) a slight over-run of paint on Britain's ACW figures. I noticed it first time on a recent Iron Brigade figure where the flesh colour had been over-painted onto his facial hair-being still able to paint this was swiftly corrected by yours truly with a dab of matt black. However, I noticed it again on the recent Last Meeting set-Take a look at this recent picture I posted on another thread-

Note the right hand of the JEB Stuart figure and you can clearly see an over-paint of the flesh tint onto the top of his boot also note the side of his sculpted beard where the paint has not quite covered the beard protusion or the flesh colour has been overpainted onto his beard-whichever way the process of painting is. Now it might be considered by some as trivial but nevertheless if Lo has been unfortunate enough to get more than his fair share of over-paints I can understand his disappointment. Afterall its not everyone who can handle a needle point brush to correct these small anomalies.

George-Many thanks for the update you have certainly got my attention ^&grin

Bob,
Have to admit I would not notice that kind of detail. Beard seems an issue. Simply never come up before.

Let's not forget Richard's efforts in what's headed our way........The Lt..

Can't say I have noticed any paint issues on my Zulus. To be honest though I never scrutinize them all that much so they could be there. The only issue I had was with (I believe it was Dalton) was that he had a huge hand.

Bob,
That is exactly what I am talking about. When you posted pictures of your new "Last Meeting" set I noticed what you pointed out above right away. I have talked to Richard about this several times in the past and he was able to send me top-notch replacements, which were looked at by himself. So, bravo to that man and all that he has done for Britains! I would have to say that most of the recent figures that I have received had some kind of paint running onto other areas, that's why I have been turned off from Britains for the most part, even though they have such wonderful ACW releases. The figure I received just two weeks ago of General Hooker had black paint from his hat running onto the blue of his uniform and missing black paint on his sword scabbard. I can fix the black paint on the scabbard, but I'm not skilled enough for mixing the proper blue paint for his uniform. I am not good at painting anyways and most of the time I do more harm then good. I understand that with a mass produced figure it is hard to get everything perfect, but when you pay good money for a product you truly care about you want the best.

I've found quite a few flaws not only in the painting but also in the casting of a number of my Zulu War figures having return a number of sets as well and keeping a few which I'm not overly pleased with I've also passed on a number of sets because of the flaws seen.........The Lt.

The new Zulu figures are available for viewing on the Treefrog website. Some nice additions !!! Funny I should mention Dalton in my previous post as there is a new figure of him as well.

Yes some nice additions, sure they will get snapped up quickly with only 500 available on most sets, received my Zulu war club figure today , I really like it there was a note with it saying the Standard is expected at the end of June

Good to see the various series are on the move again. Not sure about the sanity aspects for WW1, whilst very big part of every day life, would rather not be reminded of it personally. The Zulu are all good, would have liked Pulleine in tact rather than his last moments and was hoping for some Lancers on horse or the rocket team, perhaps next time. Good to hear the club figures are arriving, for me it is the Zulu figure. Go Ken.{sm4}, Robin.

A lot of nice new releases, in particular for the ACW collectors.
Treefrog has the picture shown below as an icon for the new Britains releases, but I didn't see the matching figure anywhere.
Looks like from the AWI period.
Anybody knows who this figure might be?
Cheers!
Konrad
