Got my Collectors club renewal notice and found a plesant suprise CF028 :cool:

Finally the elusive and mysterious CF 028 makes its appearance! This is an interesting development and perhaps a hint towards a future line of ancients that I think would be really collectible. Nice change from all the more modern releases. I eagerly look forward to future developements. ^&cool
 
This is great news on a possible new series.

You might recall that back in January there were broken links on the K&C website showing two new club figures described as CF029 Newspaper Seller and CF028 Athenian Marine.

My membership is up for renewal. I've seen the Athenian Marine but would like to see what the newspaper Seller looks like before choosing a Collectors Club figure.

Agreed (although the last thing I need is to start collecting a new line).

I think the success of 300 ignited a renewed interest in the Greeks. There's a follow up (or prequel) graphic novel and film focusing on Xerxes, so I think there'd be a market for it.
 
I just recently became a club member at King & Country and don't know much about the procedures. Do all club members not get notified about new releases? Thought it is strange to hear about new club figures on a forum first.
However, there is a good chance that this collector's club figure is the lead to a new range, isn't it?

A new club figure could be a lead in to a new range, but not always. Some of the figures are jokes by Andy, or possibly self portraits ^&grin The Sons of the Empire had 5 club figures before the series came out. Sometimes a single club figure is followed by a series and there are some club figures that no series has come out for yet.

Not sure what the procedure is. I'm a club member but have heard nothing apart from the info supplied here on the forum. The Athenian Marine must be close though if it's being promoted to new members. Wonder when it's going up on the site.
 
The only thing I can tell you is it was offered as a choice for my renewal, I'm sure it will be announced soon or you might email them direct, the K&C staff are top notch and eager to please....:rolleyes:
