Wow !
Looks like another great hand to hand set. Lt. Chard has his hands full.

I noticed that the Collector's Club figure looks a lot like Piper Findlater- 92nd Highlanders who played the Cock O' the North during the attack on the Dargai Heights in Afghanistan. Now that would be a great range too.

Breaker your oh so right it is Piper George Findlater as you'll notice him in his photo the next time you log on to the Conte's web site an do agree it's another great hand to hand set by Conte. Sent you an email and looking forward to your reply......The Lt.

Another General's Son is once again in the thick of it.......The Lt.

Lt., asked that I post this as an update to the photo of the great Highland Piper Collectors Club figure on Conte Collectible site.
You could post this (in response to your question)

Dear Joe

Thanks for your email & question. YES, the wounded piper IS based upon Piper Findlater who won the VC at Dargai in Afghanistan . I believe we posted a photo of him (the actual fellow) yesterday or today near the picture of the sculpt on our site. The real photo next to the sculpt will show yet again how pal Robert Ortiz can 'nail' likenesses of real people better than any sculptor in the toy soldier world.

The 'song' being played on the site-when u see Findlater- is Cock O' The North which is the theme of the Gordons. I was always impressed with the stories I'd read years ago regarding Findlater's courage and example under fire and have had him on my to do list for years.

Whoever pointed out to you that they thought this was Findlater really must know his stuff!(My Glengarry's off to him!!) He's made my day by recognizing the stalwart Scot. Anyhow, got to run as thousands of Romans, Zouaves and Flying Zulus have invaded here and we are doing our best to start filling preorders!!

Kind regards to all
RC

Thanks Ben for posting this for me haven't figure out how to do it on my own. You did hit the nail on the head when identifying the figure as Piper Findlater. I can't wait to get my hands on the last 5 Zulu War Set due in August and the Flying Zulu that arrived yesterday....The Lt.

Waiting with anticpation to see the new Flying Zulu piece. As my personal piece is shipping on Wednesday and will take around 2 weeks to arrive.

In the meantime looking forward to seeing action poses.

Only five? There must be a second wave surely?

The Flying Zulu appears to be one set of a larger diaramic piece according to the Conte website.

Mind you 21 is enough to start with.
