New England Patriots (1 Viewer)

Damian,
Thanks very much; we are very happy in Massachusetts these days.........................

We are also happy here in Hawaii. I am originally from the Boston area and made my wife suffer there for 14 years. We still cheer for the Sox and Pats.

No offense fellas but I can't stand the Pats and I hope they get CRUSHED in the playoffs- Brady is just a smug twit and Bellicheck is just a cheating chump. I know, I should be above name calling but with these guys, I just am not

Another "Patriot Hater" checks in..............lol..................My Dad, who has been a fan since 1960, wanted to know if I wanted one of those 16-0 perfect season tee shirts the No Fun League is peddling; I told him no, I'll wait for the 19-0 Super Bowl Champions Perfect Season version instead.

Truth be told, IF they don't go 19-0 and win the thing, 16-0 means crap to me, it's all about rings and trophies.............

Ease up guys, American Football provides some of the best comedy on Australian TV :p ;)

OUCH!;)

I gotta say, I was never much of a patriots fan, but you gotta root for 'em now just to see if they actually can go 19-0.

Will Janet Jackson be at the superbowl?

I think most of the country hates the Patriots and are rooting for them to lose in the playoffs. They're not a team like the Steelers who have a huge fan base with fans all over the world. People can't stand Brady and Belechik.
Belechik shouldn't even be on the sidelines. He should have been suspended for a year for having been caught cheating.

Interesting how professional baseball has become more a sport of regional interest while the NFL has become the national sport. For example, no one much cares except the cities involved who plays in the World Series, but everyone watches the Super Bowl.

I second that!!

It's like Bonds and the Steroids/ Home Run record. There are people all over the place saying " yeah, but everyone cheats- AND??? Does that make it right?? And if all of these people are out there cheating, why aren't they getting caught??

Belechik got out coached several times this year- Reid with the Eagles and that near loss to the RAVENS with Billick and the Giants almost pulled it off this year- almost

It's not so much that I hate the Patriots its all the darn hype around them- I swear, watching the game on Sat night, you'd think Belechik was the second coming. It's just enough to make you want to go stir crazy.

I was rooting for the Giants on Saturday but that's because I'm a Giants fan.

However, I hope the Pats make it. How often can you say you saw something historic like this? If the choice is between the Cowboys and the Pats, well that choice is easy. Now, I understand that some people may not like Belicheck but what can you have against Brady. All the guy does is win and he's not in the prison blotter headlines.

Yeah- the choice is super easy - GO COWBOYS!!! Yeah, I guess he's not in prison yet- I guess that helps him feel good about fathering a child and then not being around for them :mad:

I don't think this Patriots team is even in the Top 15 greatest football teams in NFL history (well, history since I started watching as a kid in 1981 :D). I think the following teams are better and in no particular order:

70's Steelers teams
80's 49ers
80's Giants teams ( that won the SB)
85 Bears ( Man alive, I would give anything to see Singletary CRUSH Brady- or Urlacher or LT, well, never mind, won't go there)- you remember these guys- the ones that THROTTLED the Pats 46-10 in the SB
92 or 93 Cowboys
94 49ers
late 90's Broncos
1976 Buccaneers :p

I just hate the new "32" team format, I feel it has further diluted the talent in the league. You can see how many teams go through the seasons "almost" going undefeated and then it happened this season. Plus, the divisions going from 3 to 4 conferences has made things easier too- let's face it, how hard is it to go undefeated when you get 6 games against the dolphins, bills and Jets!! Might as well start the season 6-0- the worst thing the NFL did was dismantle the AFC East (and NFC Central) and took away 2 games against the Colts that the Pats would have had to play.

I dunno- this all gets into the NFC/AFC debate to me- give me NFC Smash mouth, in the mud and blood bruising football- you know- Packers, Dallas, Giants, Eagles Vikings, not this fancy pants "AFC" football where we just throw the ball around all day- and run around and look good for the cameras. That's for the arenas, not the NFL

The question is, though, am I really watching the Super Bowl, or the clever high budget Super Bowl Commercials?;)

A team that goes 16-0, beats the two, three and four seeds in the AFC and the one, five and six seeds in the NFC, and you think they aren't in the top 15of all time great teams?

And for the record, the 2007 Patriots would run a spread offense vs the 85 Bears like Miami did and destroy them. What ever happened to that NFC "dynasty" anyway, the monsters of the midway; one and done is what happened.

You want to compare the AFC vs the NFC; it's like apples vs hand grenades, the NFC is the JV Conference.2006 Colts, 2005 Steelers, 2004 Patriots, 2003 Patriots, (2002 Bucs), 2001 Patriots; that's 5 out of the last 6, soon to be 6 of the last 7..........

The Cowboys? LMFAO at that one......

I'm over 50 seen a lot of football in those years, not a Pats fan, but seen a lot of great QB's, but i got to tell you Brady's the best all time, bar none. all season he has stood in the backfield alone, no RB's, everyone knows he's gonna pass and no one comes close to stopping him. enjoy the show boys, somebody always hates perfection.
P.S. it really helps to have a line that keeps everyone 6 ft. away!

Whatever about the Patriots, you should all be happy you had a football season. I had the Rams. As Tony Soprano would say "The Rams were dead to me".
My God they were awfull! And please someone take Coach Linehan!

Great points NMRocks; last year, with a bunch of scrub WR's, the Patriots were 59 seconds away from going to the Super Bowl; this year, they got Moss, Stallworth, Welker and look what happened, they set records for points and TD's thrown by a QB.

We wondered how good the kid would be with better weapons; we just found out.

How anyone can attack his character is beyond me, a 6th round draft choice who worked his rear end off to be a better player. I used to work security down at the stadium and met him several times, one of the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet.

When our old OC Charlie Weis had gastric bypass surgery and almost died, Tom was at the hospital 24/7 until Charlie pulled through; few, IF ANY, people know about this, the media up here didn't even know about it.

No sir, the kid is aces in my book.
