How anyone can attack his character is beyond me, a 6th round draft choice who worked his rear end off to be a better player. I used to work security down at the stadium and met him several times, one of the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet.
When our old OC Charlie Weis had gastric bypass surgery and almost died, Tom was at the hospital 24/7 until Charlie pulled through; few, IF ANY, people know about this, the media up here didn't even know about it.
No sir, the kid is aces in my book.
Your right- I am WAY off base- guess I have gotten really cynical over the years with pro football players and made an assumption- everytime you hear something like when he and the mother of his child split, you just assume that the player said "C-YA" once the child was born. The circumstances around their split were by all accounts a friendly one and for me to assume that he just up and left her and their son was way wrong. You are right though, he fought his way through the ranks and that has to be respected- interesting article on Wikipedia about how he had to fight through anxiety at Michigan.
My animosity with Brady stems more from the fact that he's from Michigan (College) and for whatever reason, we Penn Staters CANNOT seem to BEAT MICHIGAN!! I guess I am getting a small taste of what you Red Sox fans went through with the World Series
Your right though, they need to win those last 3 to make it count. If my Cowboys make it to the big dance this year, we are gonna have to do it on the field. Coaching wise, Phillips doesn't match up with Belichik- cheating or not.
The NFC won Super Bowls 19-31- that is a 14 year span- we are giving the AFC a chance to catch up- most of those wins were royal spankings.
Regarding Brady as the greatest QB ever, the man is good but lets keep it in perspective- I really don't think he would even say that- I personally think there are a few that are "better" than he- including his idol Montana but, the point is academic. I was talking to my old man the other night about the Patriots and the really scary thing about them is that whenever Brady walked off the field this year, he didn't even look tired- I don't think I ever saw him sweat this year. A lot of great QB's from great teams take a beating and that takes a wear on the player. He just hasn't taken that beating this year- it's as if he got to play a season, go 16-0 and throw 50 TDs and didn't suffer any of the beating from it- if this keeps up, we are going to be dealing with these Patriots for another decade.
Still though, I wish the NFL didn't fill up seemingly EVERY evening game with the Patriots- there are 31 other teams out there too.
Happy New Year gang!!
