I think it was the preview of the FL mortar team that 'pushed me over the edge' and into the FL WWII world. I was thrilled to see it waiting for me when I got back into town today. Here's a few hasty pics (all my pics look hasty-lol), plus used the MG-34 team to give 'em a little 'cover'.
My pics don't do these sets justice, you'll have to buy 'em yourself to enjoy the detail and quality.

Looking good! After seeing those pictures, I wish I had the $$$ resources for the Stalingrad range. (I guess I'll be relegated to the Afrika Korps.)

Mike ,
WOW your fast ^&grin Like I have said many time First Legions Stalingrad line got me back into WWII figure collecting  , IMO Simply the best WWII figures being made at any cost .. Thanks for sharing Gebhard

Thanks much fellas. I agree Gebhard, the FL level of detail is outstanding and addictive, not to mention the price point (per figure) is not that much higher. And to think, I had diligently AVOIDED the Eastern Front up till now...

Mike..

Great sets and they look good with the building you have in that dio
Mitch

The new Stalingrad sets are really starting to take on the whole battlefield scenerio with the releases of wounded/mortar team/ the BMW bike sets, can't wait to get these sets as well, Mike, your Mortar set looks great also like the Machinegun team for support, always good to have another WWII collector on board:)...Sammy

Thanks much for your kind words Mitch.

Sammy, I 'blame' you (lol) for getting me into the FL WWII line. I've no regrets and am looking forward to watching the line grow further.
I'd like to add another mortar set and try to create 'battery dio', but I've got to live within the limit of my hobby budget.

I lasted about ten seconds :redface2: I went from never buying another WWII figure again to buying just about the whole line:redface2: just be glad you didn't wait too long and miss em . When these first releases are gone and newer FL collectors are looking for em they will be very very hard to get for sure .. Thanks for sharing your pictures that Mortar crew looks GREAT its on my list of must haves with just about everything else {eek3}{eek3} just can't let myself get pulled into Afrika and I don't even want to think about any of the new lines . Regards Gebhard

I am drawing the line at not starting on the Afrika Korps line (lol), just can't allow myself to go there if I want to keep my toy soldier budget manageable (such as it is).

Thanks for posting the pics. This is a great looking set and I think it would work nicely with a western front theme if and when it comes out. As much as I love the east I have to hold out for the west. I'll have to cherry pick in the mean time with what would work with the west.

Ah yes Mike, it was my devious evil plot to bring you into the world of First legion WWII!! and it worked!!:)seriously though I have answered more then a few private messages on the WWII Stalingrad range and have giving points on this and that but the number one thing I recommend is...just purchase one or two soldiers and usually that is all it takes, from there on you become a full time collector of First Legion!!!...Sammy

These soldiers look great. Just got my last credit card bill so I will pay that off and here we go again. Simmo.

Thanks much Simmo and Sahara.
Sammy, you were so right, I bought a few soldiers (and HAD to have the Panzer III) and have now gotten hooked on the FL WWII line. Planning to pick up some more items in June.

Mike,

Don't sell yourself short. I quite like your scene setup and shots. I ordered the mortar team yesterday. Looking forward to getting it into play.

That's very kind Frank and Thanks ! I look at the photo work of many posters on this Board and I consider myself in the 'Little Leagues' (US parlance for youth sports) and others in the Pros (but I'm OK with it).

I'm finally home for a week and had a chance to re-set my mortar guys-REALLY like this set !
