It looks very good right now, looking forward to seeing it when you are finished.

It does look great so far. So how did you do the door grain, decking, framing and roof tiles?

Cool looking build Tim. Like the floor board effect and the SIZE!

Simon

Excellent looking Tim. Can't wait to see more pictures of your progress and the finished product. I feel that building dioramas and backdrops are the best part of this hobby for me. Very nice, very nice indeed.

Oh man that building looks cool makes me want to build one too. On the floor boards I tried something new that might speed things up a bit. I used a fine hair comb and dragged it across the floor board slightly moving it from side to side but just a little bit.

Alex,

I've started doing something similar, but I use a brass wire brush, fairly heavily applied. Puts all the grain in the right places, along with varied depth.

My computor is melting down I have a major virus and tried to reply 3 times to this and got cut off!
So I,ll try one more and keep it REAL brief! I scribed in the detail into the foam.:)
Hope this one posts!

Can,t post more then a few words? I,ve got a major virus! Will go over how to a a latter date so I don,t throw this laptop through a wall!!!!!:mad:

Really great looking building !
Do you have taken pictures during the assembly phase ?
Michel

Excellent work Fish, lot's of patience and skill goes into something like that.As for the puter? Well, if something's gotta get thrown through the wall, better the puter than your buildings, cat, ect.

Merry Christmas Fish!

I,m still having computor problems but I,ll try and post a few pics.
Progress has been slow because the basements been to cold to work in but I finnished the roof and started on some stairs for the back.
Its coming along slow but its coming.
The roof is made of broken popsicle sticks that I cracked with the wrench in the photo, then filed them down a bit to remove the jaged edges.

Wow! I was able to post today. This virus killed my computor.
Still lots of work to go,next will be work on the back of the building if my basement stays warm enough to work down there.
I,ve still got a lot of ideas to go with this project its far from done but its going to take awhile to finnish with this cold.
If my computor was working I would have done a step by step thread on this one.

Hi Tim,

Wow! That is a great structure you are building! The shingles must be quite labor intensive, not to mention time consuming. Your patience with such a project is quite evident.

I am also impressed with the decks and stairs you have built for the rear of your building. Did you build that structure with popsicle sticks also?

Thanks for sharing your project with us. I anxiously look forward to more pictures as you advance the project toward completion!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Ex-cellent! Fantastic work, Tim! How are you going to finish the "plastered" areas of the building, and will you paint, or stain, the timbers?

Prost!
Brad

I,m just going to paint the wood and maybe try and paint some wood grain in also?
The plaster will also be just painted but I,m going to add cracks and a few broken sections with the bricks exposed, that I,ll carve in. Kind of like the other building I made if you,ve seen that one also?
I,ve have a couple of screens I,m going to try and cut for windows. I had some clear flex tubing that had a great a white screen renforcing inside that looked just like the old style dimond windows but when I cut it I could not flaten it out to make my windows, it just kept curling right back up again even after I tried to heat it in the microwave and all.
To bad because it would have made great lead dimond windows like they used back then with the glass built right in it.
I want to add windowstills and flower pots and maybe some vines growing up the building also.
I,ve got lots of ideas, now to get back to work!
